Alex Murdaugh Clerk of Court Outright Denies Tainting Jury to Sway Guilty Verdict

The Clerk of Court accused of tampering with the jury in Alex Murdaugh's family murder trial took the stand Monday and testified in his evidentiary hearing. Rebecca "Ms. Becky" Hill outright denied tainting the jury to sway a guilty verdict for the disgraced lawyer.

I think it’s so improper for SlED to have investigated her. She was prepped twice for over four hours. They finally found her missing cell phone and didn’t even bother to check it. They weren’t investigating they were protecting their verdicts… SC deserves better.

When he asked her the rules, she responds by listing the Judges, the prosecution and defense and then herself. Clearly, she thinks she's right up there with them. Most importantantly, her response to what are the Court rules, she stated to get Kleenex and to take care of everyone. Which is all I need to know about this person.

While I think murdaugh probably committed the crime, i didn’t think the prosecution had an open and shut case to find him guilty. But what I do think is that if the woman had any impact however small on the jury then a retrial should be ordered and she should be punished for tampering with the Jury and be punished too whatever extent she had influence. I don’t think they should lock her up and throw away the key (unless her actions were so egregious to warrant) but at the same time she shouldn’t get a slap on the wrist either. If the state believes they have a good enough case then they shouldn’t be scrambling as much as they are right now.

Nobody in the court system wants to work anymore than they have to and when there’s a main character on stand or it gets closer to a verdict, the pressure is on to get it done and over with asap so I’m certain she made comments and put pressure on them. People say, well, they took an oath and testified and told the truth. That oath ain’t crap and means nothing because everyone lies
