I heard they don’t bite and will eat all bugs even bed bugs!!!! I have seen them before and as long as they stay out of my way, They live…when they get in my way, they are dead!!

Their fast speed enhances their creepiness factor.

Cedric, my house centipede, and I have an understanding. After midnight, he has free roam of my basement and I promise NOT to turn on the basement lights and run noisily down the wooden stairs. It seems to be working out for us.

I have one of these. I call her Celeste. She patrols the 2nd floor of my 150 year-old home, keeping the bedroom and bathroom 100% free from spiders and the kinds of insects that inhabit old houses. Celeste is extremely shy, and I'd never even know she was here, if she didn't occasionally turn up in the bathroom sink. It's very reassuring to see her and realize that she's still here, doing her job.

I get these in my house, I used to have a bad cricket problem in my basement, I would also get ants and spiders. When I stopped killing the house centipedes, all the other bugs went away.

In Japan they actually release a few in the home to keep pests away.

After learning what this is and what it does its now on the "no squish" list....helpful little horrors. I only see them in the spring and fall when its generally more damp and gets chilly at night...i should probably invest in a dehumidifier

They absolutely love the glitter-type lava lamps. They go batsheet scurrying around chasing the flashes the lamp projects onto the walls.

I moved to Georgia from Florida and had never seen these. Now I'm used to them.

Good to know. I have seen them in summer in my basement, but not in winter. Maybe during summer humidity in my basement runs as high as 70s.

I “watched” the entire video with my head turned! LOL 😂 I wanted to hear what he had to say, but I couldn’t bear to look at it! Thank you for the informative video….🐛

I endorse their presents. They keep my house clean. They are extremely fragile and break apart easy if you don't handle them lightly. I leave water tray out at night so they don't dry out 😊

They typically reside in the gap between a house’s sheathing and the brick siding.

I never kill these house centipedes. I have a plastic glass and a piece of card to slide underneath. I capture the creature and release outside in the long grass. Though it can get rid of pests in the house I am reluctant to leave it in case it gets trodden on or the dogs catch and chew it.

The big ones - 6 inches or so - are scary to see in the ceiling just above your head...

They go where water and other bugs are. If you see one you have other bug problems. They are fast too.

Watching this video late at night before going to sleep. Thank you for giving me the topic of tonight’s nightmares! 😮

Great video, thanks. I see one every once in a while in my basement even when it's dry but for some reason they always creep me out. They move pretty fast when trying to catch them. I use a soft tissue to grab them, then toss 'em outside.
