I lived in a house that had house centipedes. The whole, "if you have house centipedes, you don't have to worry about other bugs", is ridiculous. We got bedbugs and the house got infested with them (I won't bore you with that nightmare). The centipedes had no noticeable effect. And while house centipedes are harmless, other centipede species are aggressive, are venomous, and will bite.
