Oprah Winfrey reveals she uses weight-loss medication | The Social

The icon recently shared she has added the medication to her holistic health regimen and has stopped shaming herself and her body.

Personally, I wouldn't want to jeopardize my health by injecting insulin medication when I don't even have diabetes. But if that's the route people want to take, to each their own.

The reason why a lot of ppl are upset is because she recently said she would never do the drug cause it would feel like she's cheating. Also, there's a critical shortage of the drug for diabetecs whose lives depend on it. Now, there will be a great shortage as ppl who don't have diabetes will want it so they too can lose weight.

I didn't think Oprah was being transparent in the least. At first she was pushing weight watchers until she was probably going to be exposed for taking Ozempic. I'm not a fan of hers to begin with but I really get angry with anyone using this drug when it's a life saving medication for diabetics. Some people in the States without insurance could use Ozempic instead of the very vain and wealthy for appearances. Just wrong imo.

While I would love a world where we don't talk about each other's bodies, I do think it's important for celebrities to own what they are doing. Many of these drugs are things that are expensive and will require years of continuous meds to keep the weight at bay. Most of the population cannot afford to pay for these drugs for years, or decades. The honesty is important.

Its because she was the Weigh Watchers spokes person for so long. It looks like that program is a shame now. But personally I could care less as long as she is happy with herself.

I wish Oprah. didn't have to respond but I see how her transparency can help others. I thought more of us were about body positivity but I guess I am wrong. I'm happy she seems happy and healthy.

I am very happy for Oprah she's been trying to lose weight all her life. I am just sad that as a diabetic I am not able to get my ozempic because of shortage.

What’s wrong with taking medication to lose weight. I wish I could get my hands on it. So what! Oprah has struggled with her weight her entire life. Everyone hates being fat, I don’t care who you are. Sharon Osborne and her daughter, on the other hand, have gone way overboard with it and loook dead!! Pretty sad when Ozzy looks like the healthy one!
What drives me nuts is the ones using Ozempic but doing commercials for weight loss gummies when you know damn well what they’re doing.
I don’t believe there’s a shortage of the drug because the pharmaceutical companies are loving this. The more they make, the more they sell, and the more expensive it gets.

Just to clarify, Ozempic is NOT insulin. Yes, it is used as a treatment for diabetes, and should be used with extreme caution, but it’s not insulin.

I can't stand Oprah after the Maui fires. Who cares what she does. I do not consider her any kind of role model.
