WHAT I LEARNED OVER 5 YEARS AS A MINIMALIST. Some of these lessons even surprised me! But they are all based on the minimalist mindset of being intentional and only keeping what we need and love.

I have a picture on my wall (about the only thing) that says
“Gratitude: turns what you have into enough.”. I think of this often!!! 😊

It’s amazing how this road of minimalish living transforms who you are. Hard to explain all the benefits. Thank you for always doing it so well. ❤

OMG, this is me right now!! I finally finished paying off my student debt, and I had the funds to buy things I thought I "wanted" at first. I bought a lot of decor and stuff to make my home cozy, only to realize that I created more clutter and spent money on things that I didn't like. I only liked them at the moment when I had them in my cart. Now, I'm going through a different phase in my life where I got tired of constantly cleaning, so I got rid of the majority of my things. I'm keeping things minimalist and simple with some simple decor that I like. I love my space and peace a lot more ❤😂

I’d love to hear more about why you left teaching. I’m in almost the same position as you. Yesterday was my last day of the school year and I will not be returning next school year other than subbing. I loved my job, students, families, and coworkers, but I will be staying home at least until December to help out my daughter. I’m at a crossroads…I’m not sure if I want to maybe return full time the following school year or if I want to pursue a new career path. I’m 47 so I’m thinking this would be a great time if I want start something new. I’m fortunate in the fact that my husband is completely supportive of whatever I choose to do. The challenge for me is figuring out what that is. I’ve shared that tomorrow is going to be the start of my decluttering journey because like you mentioned I feel like I can’t really just sit and think while being surrounded by so much stuff. One thing I do know for sure is that I just want a simpler life with less things to manage. I’ve been going back and trying to watch your older videos too while taking notes. Your channel is a huge motivation for me so I want to say thank you❤

Excellent video and advice. At 77 you realize how precious and fleeting life is..I begin minimalizing abt 5 yes ago and realized that was almost too late to do so. Despite health concerns I keep pushing along.

Oh yeah, the mic dropped! I am done with obsessed things at the storage unit paying $400/month for nothing! I sold and donated a lot. The stress is gone! No more worrying! I got rid of 80% of items of clothing, shoes, furniture (down to 7 pieces), tools, camping stuff, and many more. The book collection is the worst. I am building less than 800 sq ft mezzanine house! No more big home and collection. The less the more. Travel more. I subscribe to you.

this is the first video I've seen from your channel and it was so moving! I have been decluttering and then refilling my home and closet over and over since I was 17 and discovered minimalism (im now 22). but this video helped me realize part of why it never sticks is because im searching for the magic number of clothes or wardrobe aesthetic to complete me and that just doesn't exist because im already complete. loved this video, love what you're sharing. thank you

I’m a teacher so I’d love to hear your reasons why you left the profession. Totally off topic but we need a hair color tutorial. This is my favorite channel😊❤️

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do a video on teaching and why you left. I used to teach SPED 20 yrs ago and I'm thinking about going back (but I'm terrified bc teaching has changed esp the curriculum and kids behavioral issues)

Great video! For me, and along the same idea, I found I would purchase things because I was always looking for that "one special thing". That "one special top" or the "one special necklace", or lipstick, or perfume, or purse, or set of sure you get the idea. And I never seemed to be able to find it, no matter how many tops or necklaces or perfumes etc. I bought. I've finally realized that I wasn't looking for something that was special to me, but was looking for something to make me feel I was special. And I'm still working on that, but I know now I'm not going to find it in any store.

♥ I left the teaching profession entirely back in 2007 when my daughter was 6 so I get it. I'd still love too watch a video about your experience though.

The more minimal I become, the more minimal I want to be. I would enjoy hearing about why you quit teaching full time.

I am a current classroom teacher and I’m getting tired of trying to fit in with other teachers and admin. My son graduates in two years. I may be able to figure out an alternative. I have a new channel that I’m still planning my first video . I have my script, I just have to film. I hope to have it done today. I have also been a minimalist for several years and we have hardly the amount of stuff we used to have. I would definitely be interested in why you left teaching and how it has impacted you financially. I make the majority of our household income, so I don’t see how I could leave my job without another option. Hugs!
