I use the regular Lightroom so I can share albums with clients and being able to view and edit photos in almost every device you can think of. Idk, it just works for me…

After many years of using the Classic version, I switched to Lightroom and it is the best decision I have ever made. I hate catalogs enormously, I work much more comfortably working with my own folders, just like working in Lightroom.

To be honest, Darktable worked out for me; better sharpness (didn't have to oversharpen like in LR/camera raw), a little better exposure manipulation (why does camera raw shows it so underexposed I had to literally push it +2 steps? It looks fine on camera and in other software), plus profiled denoising comes in clutch quite often

also it's free and open source, so you are free to develop your own version if you want

Adobe needs to step it up and either get LR (Cloud) to the same specs, tools, etc... as LRc or better yet, develop LRc for the iPad. With Apple now announcing Logic Pro and Final Cut for the iPad, it is time for Adobe to show some love to us, the photographic community.

Lightroom 2024 (desktop version) is a "light" version of Lightroom Classic so many basic features missing hopefully in a few more years it will be up to par with the original.

Though I have used camera raw for years. These couple of days I tried Capture one and I think it can deliver cleaner shadows with less noise and sharper overall details than adobe softwares does.

I use Classic, and I recently downloaded the newest version to try it out. I hated it. It's like they made everything overly complicated with all the social features. I just wanted to edit some photo.

i always used Lightroom classic ( and mobile a bit ) ... the base ! a video about how using good the lightrrom catalog and how organize tousand of photos with lightroom could be usefull !

Honestly I don't like Adobe so I use Luminar Neo. I love it, and I don't miss Lightroom much

You ever revisit your old shoots in your catalog, flip through all the photos you originally dismissed, and thought to yourself... "Hey! These are actually pretty good!" After enough time has passed, I find myself looking at all the "crap" shots with a fresh set of eyes. Anyway that's the premise for the youtube short I posted today. As photography appears to be pulling in new hobbyists these days, I really believe a comparison of other software would be a lot better, personally speaking I won't pay Adobe forever as a single hobbyist, I'm not a 30-man studio

Would really love to see affinity photo, darktable, raw therapee, capture one (still too expensive for the solo hobbyist imo) and all the others, including snapseed on mobile as well

I use Lightroom (not classic) for my business. They have updated it to do everything classic can do. Like it much better than classic. The classic is inferior at this point. Can you name one thing classic can do regular can’t??

I only like light room classic. I don’t know why I hate all of your tips lol I’m going through them all and trying to find something, we gotta have some sort of commonality. I haven’t found it yet, but hopefully I will.

This is a wierd take to me, I don't think lightroom classic is designed for professionals and lightroom isn't I just think they wanted to take the software in a different direction. Lightroom has a lot better masking functionality than lightroom classic and I feel I can get more control with it.
