Elex Review

Elex is a sci-fi fantasy action RPG from the makers of the gothic series. I've had it in my backlog for quite a while and decided it was finally time to give it a shot.

In this video, I will give you a look at the world as well as an overview of my time playing the game.

Elex was awesome, enough so that I pre-ordered Elex 2. There don't seem to be to many second tier rpgs these days.

Elex has its problems, but personally I love it. The story is great and world it's set in is unique, interesting, and complex. This is a game where you're not going to be able to go through doing the right thing, even if you want to. Factions may sound like something you want to join but everyone of them has their flaws that make them unlikable. Your decisions are not limited to good and bad and often have complex repercussions one never expected. The replayability is insane because being able to replay his dedicate members of certain factions changes events and prospectives. Abessa for instance. Hard to believe that the clerics are defending the city and exhausting resources out of benevolence. The outlaws want to take the shields down making the city vulnerable to Alb attacks because they claim clerics are using the city as a staging point for conquest. Are they endangering everyone by doing so, are they being manipulated to do so, or are they right? You're going to have to pick a side, and that side is going to have drastic repercussions in the game. This game has made me ponder so much of the real world we live in as good writing often does. I think this game will grow in cult following and be appreciated later on (DS9 anyone?) It's a profound game that's rough around the edges but very rewarding if you can look past the problems and rough edges.

Haha same here. Ive had this for ages. But im literally starting this today. After all the soulslike games its refreshing to see this kind of difficulty curve in an RPGesque game rather than straight up action. Thanks for this!

exploring the world is the best part of the game. PB has done a great job in crafting a beautiful world that just screams "Exploration" to me.
The MC and his story are rather unique for a PB game, where all your MCs normally are Nameless and more or less blank sheets. I like that. Jax has really grown on me.
the combat system is PB typical clunky and (unfortunatelly) magic skills are _meh_ at best. attack magic sucks, support magic is decent/good. Outlaws are most underrated faction in terms of combat viability. double damage, higher defense and attack speed, immunity to status effects... all possible with the use of the right drugs (stims) without the penalties that the other factions have to content with when using these.
Clerics definitly have the coolest armor and best support/defense skills (outside of stims) if you do not care about EXP, using support magic/psi skills of either Berserker/Clerics and stims makes you increadible powerfull for a short time.

I love the game and currently replay it.

I am german and use the german audio which is very good too. Are they calles Outcast in the English version? In the german version the cutthroat desert bandits are called Outlaws.

Just bought this game. I already own Elex II, but decided not to play it until I finished the first fame. I'll be starting my Elex journey when I wake up tomorrow. 😄

Ive owned it on pc for years and hated the way it played, but i recently picked it up for £5 on PS4.. plays way better and im actually enjoying it, loads to do .. really good rpg.. but for me.. better on console
