Of course I find this now, right after I finished learning how to knit using toothpicks because making an I-cord using crochet was going poorly. This would’ve been a perfect alternative but it’s too late now.

You can do a dun thing with a mod on this pattern, instead of crocheting the tail end crochet around it and then pull it, makes great tassels
