Who ever figured this out is a genius. Now I can tackle those patterns that start with chain 200. 😁

Five years after you made this, it’s still the video that actually solves the tricky bits for nearly half a million of us: just where to put the hook into the “bottom” of the stitch.. Thank you!

This is the first time I actually understood foundation chains. Thank you. ❤❤❤❤

This video is FANTASTIC! The way you explained the bottom base loop to stand ‘tall’ was the biggest tip, as my work was curving. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate that you use a large size hook and choose a background that is a good contrast colour to the yarn

Yes thank you! Figuring out where I'm supposed to insert hook for next fdc was so complicated even after like 3 videos but yours is like oh wow I didn't realize it was that easy. THANK YOU

I can’t even begin to thank you enough. I’ve watched so many other videos, and was doing it right but without truly being able to see and fully understand. My stitches were subpar and I am one of those people who wont move on until I reasonably perfect the technique and approve the results as good. Your use of larger yarn/hook along with your clear, concise directions has made the world of difference. My stitches are gorgeous and mine looks like yours. I am a solid beginner, with good beginning intermediate skills and you just became one of my favorite teachers. I am working on my 1st, basic blanket and this was the last part I needed to understand (using my beginner yarn) before jumping in with my project yarn. Thank you!

I had no idea such a thing even existed (and I've been crocheting for over half a century)! Thank you so much.

I’ve been crocheting since a little girl and I always forget how to start this stitch. Thank you so much. Love your enthusiasm, a great teacher.

This is my fourth video I’ve watched trying to learn FDC and it’s the first one that I could actually do myself. Thank you for the clear explanation!

Thank you for making foundation chains seem simple. I have been so confused by them and have suffered with chains being too tight. Because of you I am finally able to do half double and double foundation chains.

THIS IS FOR ME! especially with the history of a left finger break that healed nerve-impaired.
Now it's easier to crochet a foundation. Thought I might have to give this hobby up due to imperfect starts.

Been crocheting for 50 years, never too old to learn a new trick, stitch:0), thank you! Like my yarn, I'm hooked (subscribed).

Thank you for explaining where to start on the second row. I've read and watched so many tutorials trying to figure out how to transition and NO ONE explains it😂. Super helpful.

I have been trying to figure out this stitch for ages, and I think this is the ONLY video out of so many that has explained it so clearly that I can actually understand it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I needed to see this because I usually hate straight away double crocheting, but this makes it a lot easier! Thank you!! Saving this video!

I am a long time crocheter and have attempted the foundation chain many times, with no success. With this video, which I watched a couple times, I will never "chain" again! Thank you very, very much.

This is by far the best and easiest tutorial I ever used. I think I was doing work with. Thank you. I’m looking forward to using your using forward to use your tutorial again.
