How to break into cars!

I've had a few questions about how to perform lockouts on vehicles, so today I decided to do a little show and tell. I was going to just us the junk cars I have laying around, but ended up using my tow truck and pickup instead

I was a victim of crime, in regards to breaking into my car. Evidently, the thieves had crowbars permanently attached to their arms. They used a crowbar to pry open a vent window. They used a crowbar to pry off a mount for the CB Radio (It was held on with wing nuts!). They attempted to pry off my red emergency lights (Vol. Fire) with the crowbar. These were held by straps, and the wire attached with a quick disconnect. This was long before the Internet provided so much info. So, not showing this video would not prevent people from stealing, but it will help those of us that are brain dead and lock our keys in the car. Thank you for the video.

I've spent hundreds of $'s on locksmiths in the past. It's all about having the right tools and knowledge for the job. Thanks for info.

Great video! Lockouts are my favorite service I offer. It's funny because people are always amazed about how quickly someone can get into vehicles.

Bumpin up that quality content! Good Job Casey!

Future video ideas: 1. Pullout/Tow attach points 2. Basics of towing another vehicle (steering/backing/on dollys/etc...) 3. Why ya'll got so many levers on yer trucks?!?! HaHa. Hope that helps add to the easy list.

99% of the time I use the long reach tool. I had a car once that was annoying and the key was in the ignition. I turned the key while it was in the ignition and lowered the window 😂

Another great video Casey! My only comment would be about opening the doors under pressure. Sometimes that's just the way it is, but to minimize it as much as possible, I press my leg against the door tight as I pull the handle to open the door. Keeps the air bag and wedge from flying at least.

Thanks Casey. You make it look so easy. Tell Grumpy we appreciate him giving you some of his tools.👍

An idea for you. Show the difference, mechanical advantage of having to use a pulley when winching.

Sitting in non stop traffic. Perfect time to watch your video. 😂

My Dad's truck was a '69 F-250. No power anything on the doors. It did NOT lock unless you used the key in the outside of the door. We NEVER locked the keys in/locked ourselves out. Wasn't possible, unless you locked the door, then lost the keys. I think that is SO-OO much better than these modern all-automatic things where you get locked out if you sneeze. My first car (after the F-250) was a '87 Escort. Locked myself out multiple times (dumb thing!). I got really good at breaking in...Modern isn't always better...

"And you get hit in the face by the door!"

Priceless! :-D

But good that you left that in and explained it!

Really nice to have a friendly neighbour like Grumpy!

Hi Casey. I mentioned this in another comment, but I'd be interested in more explanation of how your tow calls come in, how you handle payment (before or after the job, or bill the customer, etc.), and things like that...you know, the back end stuff. Love your channel.

I opened the same car 3 times in one week. Dog kept locking the doors on the owner... Owner finally got a spare key to carry...

I remember a locksmith or tow operator showing a button puller as kids, 3" wide chunk of a milk jug 12 inches long with hole punch holes was a functional equivalent add 2' of string in a loop through I think more than one hole (its been 25 years buttons with knows on top got uncommon and I tend to fake a long reach to get into mine when a key isn't handy).

Not sure if you have done a walk around on your ford but I would like the see that. Liked the one on your Jeep and like how you keep everything simple. I have a 2000 f450 and love everything being manual.

The audio is perfect with that mic. I have a question. I have the long-reach tool and airbag. I purchased them after the local car wash locked my keys in my truck. I watched the guy open my truck in about 30 seconds. I was so amazed I purchased the two tools. Now I don't know where I purchased them and have somehow lost the airbag. Where do I go to purchase them and also the no scratch wedge and button grabber? No, I am not a car thief, just a guy that everyone goes to for help. I lost the airbag because I have only used it once in 10 years. Thank you. PS I would like to see winching more as you have done in previous videos. Just add more of why you are doing it one way or another, what types and ton of winch, why wire over fabric cable, kind of stuff.

I've used the door wedges to break the ice when my door freezes shut.

Out of interest, what would you do on cars with unusual doors? I'm thinking about the gull wing doors on a Model X, or an old Delorian for example. I'm sure there are other weird door types I haven't thought about as well.
