Cars manufactures started using rolling code after around 1995. Technically, you can use the flipper to unlock/lock the car once, but if you do so you render your actual keys useless and in need of reconfiguration. This is because the code transmitted from the key wouldn't match the code expected from the receiver ( it would be one code ahead).

* Please note that rolling codes are possible to bypass but it's definitely not something the average person would be able to do. I will not be going over how to do that for ethical reasons.

Are you guys enjoying this kind of content? lemme know!

You can hijack a rolling code. Put simply, you have to jam the signal and intercept the code. That code is still valid as long as it’s never received. Then you can replay the code. This will only work once though which is why it’s so difficult.

Wow, this is actually useful! Thank you PRG, i love your content!

A lot of rolling codes are actually algorithmically generated from a key in a microchip that is based on CMOS time. 😘 If you have the code key you can generate the signal just using the time of day. Information like this isn't unethical to share it's how most firmware functions work. We have to start understanding what we own or purchase at some point instead of being misled into thinking everything is just magic under the hood.

Ok when you showed this in the first video this was exactly my concern, and then went on a long dissociation trying to think about how it would work/wouldn't work and I fell down a rabbit hole in my own mind. 🤣🤣

I love all these people worried about getting their cars unlocked when my window got smashed for the third time last week just for nothing to be stolen

If you didn’t know this, rolling code is verified by the car, not the fob. You can scan a key outside the vehicles range and get in with that regardless if it’s rolling or not.

You can open the car with a Flipper. You record the code away from the car and then replay it near the car. The same code however won't work again for a good long while.

Unfortunately the replay attack can be used in the wild, but it's quite involved risky and targeted. Additionally to capture/replay device that you place near the key you also need a jammer placed near the car. Then you need to make the person leave, distract them. In the interim, you can do code replay attack.

Being able to play the classic Snake game is probably the coolest thing about this Flipper Zero.

Funny thing is it does actually work, there's videos of people opening cars with it but you need to put a modded software on the flipper to get it working correctly

Being able to play snake is the best part of this device 🤣

I want one of these, because I want to recreate stuff like amiibo tags and also some other stuff from old toys to life games like sky landers

What's cool too is you can also play the original doom on it. Like the old 3D dos one like Wolfenstein 3D for dos.

It actually can copy rolling code but you need another firmware, unleashed for example and the car must be put of range of the signal while recording the code.

I like how he only addresses the lock unlock freq and not the fact that the key is a proxkey.... plug that exp board in and go to work. lol. So many keys are proximity based.

Or you stand near the car, use the flipper to catch the code from the remote but have a rf blocker by the vehicle, the vehicle is still on a certain code that tallys up with the code sent from the remote, if you catch the tranmission from the fob and record it, then go back to the vehicle turn the rf blocker off and the door will unlock with the recorded code as its expecting that code

if i remember this corectly there was some sort of jammer attack where you would jam the keyfobs connection to the car record the code record the second attempt then play back the first code leaving you with a valid second code to use at your leisure b

i think there was also a method to figure out the coling code sequence if you could capture enough codes from the keyfob
