I love my Daytona and have no regrets about choosing it

Last week I rode a nicely blue-fairing "GSX-8R": The bike was beyond my expectations in terms of smoothness of the power's delivery, of agility and steadiness over bumps and bends, of good global balance...no extraordinary virtues, such as no eye-catching defects. It is worth its price.
I have to book a test ride for a "Daytina 660" and I admitt major expectations from this triple cylinder mid-size sportsbike...

I can't argue much with your assessment on these bikes! While I was critical of the Daytona 660 at launch vs the Daytona 675, it did win me over a bit after I got to try it. True the 8r is a little more comfortable I didn't enjoy the quickshifter and missed the top end power. While the Daytona doesn't come with a quickshifter as standard($300 addon) sadly but when equipped it works much smoother than the 8r. Both have a place no doubt and both are good bikes, but the Daytona 660 is my choice. Good video as always!

This stupid trend with the non existing passenger seats and short rears should immediately stop. Not every bike needs to looks like a custom build and you can sell cut versions as extra parts...

Id have to go with the more comfortable Suzuki. I love parallel twins too. If Triumph made a more standard triple, I may reconsider.

Could you compare daytona with cbr 650r

I rode for 2 hours straight on the GSX-8R and it was super comfortable. It's very forgiving in terms of power delivery. As a new/returning rider, i recommend starting off at C mode until you get used to it. It's quite a heavy bike, but because it's so slim and low, you could barely feel the weight, and you can maneuver it at low speeds or even when pushing it almost without any effort. Fuel consumption is not bad as well. You have a 14L tank, and you can get from 240km to 300km depending on how you're riding. I average at about 2.8L/100km but on days when I'm having fun i get to 8L/100km.

Bob. I watch all the time all the way from Nigeria. For this review and becos I do everyday commute, the Suzuki is a better deal but based on your video b4, I think the cbr650r would be it for me.

Great review as always. I bought the 8R and couldn't be happier. Truly the best balanced bike I've owned and I've owned a lot. 2nd favorite was my 2000 Kawi ZX9 just as an FYI.

The Daytona reminds me of my 86 VFR. It’s an exceptional middleweight starter with tons of character and an exotic soundtrack. If I were brand new to riding ( and not already drooling over the speed 1200rr) I’d grab one in a heartbeat.

If companies made optional versions of new bikes with less tech for less money they'd be a huge hit.

Great comparison, the best video I found to help me choose one of then. Thank you.

Rode them back to back and the Triumph Daytona rides like butter. It's way smoother than the Suzuki (barely any vibes in comparison)

Update: I bought the bike, and it was nice while it lasted. I'm now already 1.5 months in, waiting for an engine replacement. Will sell it afterwards. It's supposed to be a very rare occurrence, but for the engine to be needing replacement after only 8.5k kilometers...

I was looking at the two of them next to each other at Brands Hatch a few weeks ago and I think the Suzuki definitely has a better finish than the Triumph. I thought the Triumph looked cheap and nasty to be honest and was quite disappointed with it. The Suzuki would be infinitely more reliable too.

Interesting comparison. There's not much in it imo despite them going about the task quite differently. The Daytona is better looking & has a more exciting engine. However, the Suzuki's isn't boring & is more useable at legal speeds. The Suzuki also has more stable & predictable handling as well as better build quality & warranty too. I personally prefer the GSX8R but the Daytona is cooler & with improved standard suspension, geometry changes & better build quality, it would beat the Suzuki imo.
