Friendly reminder for potential buyers of these machines; making suspension adjustments for your weight and intended use makes a big difference on any bike, and tire choice can transform a machine. Don't let this review keep you from the bike you want.

Example 1: I purchased a 2024 Ninja 650 in January. I'm 5'11, so I spent $200 for the Kaw accessory seat (30 mm higher than stock) and it opened up the legroom. Adjusted rear shock from 3 to 4 of 7(next stiffest) for my 210 lbs and handling was sharp. Next, the OEM Dunlop Roadsport 2 tires were extremely stiff, feeling way over-inflated, even though they weren't. Bike was bouncy/jittery. Swapped them for Michelin Power 5 tires and now I have the compliance and grip I need for good pace on backroads. Complete transformation!

Example 2: I took delivery of a Daytona 660 last week of April. Rear shock preload came delivered at softest setting, 1 of 7. I bumped it to 3 and now I have the sharp handling I wanted; no complaints. The spring rates dont feel soft at all. I live in the States.

It appears MCN does not take time to set up the bike for each rider weight, etc. Not condemning them for this, but reminding that owners SHOULD spend time adjusting suspension, tire pressures, etc. It can really have a huge effect on our enjoyment of the machine, and also explain some of the statements from reviews of this type.

The 750-900 class of sportsbikes needs to happen. A Daytona 765, R9 and RC990 would be epic.

I have an R7 and can confirm its uncomfortable after about 200 yards 😂

how suzuki managed to make a 800cc engine make barley 80hp while aprilia sniffing coke made their 660 make 100 with almost the same compression ratio i will never understand.

RS 660 owner here with 5, 000 miles since buying new. Couldn't be more pleased with daily use, and daily 100's. Absolutely flawless bike.
But don't buy one.... I enjoy being the only one in my area who has one lol

Racing the CBR650R with the E Clutch is doing it an injustice. The bike is not slower than the zx4rr nor the R7.

Don’t care which one is faster or has more torque, the 16, 000 RPM screamer is the most enjoyable for me. I just bought the ZX4RR to convert to a race bike. I put a little over 400 miles on back roads with it and now I need another one to keep for the street. Seriously so good and I haven’t even unlocked the extra 20+ horsepower it has waiting for me.

I test rode the GSX-8R and the RS660 2 days apart from each other.
The Suzuki was just a bit too much sit up and beg. It really did feel like riding a naked bike in it's seating position.
I'm not sure how it could legitimately be classed as a sportsbike?
Can you tell i bought a RS660 after testing them back to back?
Even though I love Suzuki and have had 4 of their bikes prior to this Aprilia. Most recently a GSX-S1000 and GSX-R1000.
The Aprilia is composed, powerful, all day comfortable and when you park it, everyone wants to ask about it.
After 30 years of riding motorbikes, i find the RS660 the best all round package currently available.
I dont know what they are talking about that it is too exciting. Just whack it in commute mode and it is such a tame and easy machine to ride.
Mode selection makes a massive difference to the feel of this bike, more so than any other bike I've tried before.

This is the best format for a comparo, as opposed to the normal "conclusion"... comprehensive, emotional and decisive. Well done!

I recently bought the 8R based on all the positive prior reviews. Nice to know it's considered best all around sports bike. I love my 8R, the looks, the power everywhere, the handling stability, the comfort, and it's happy puttering around in the suburbs. I haven't found a flaw yet.

I went from a 2023 Ninja 400 to the 2024 Suzuki GSX-8R. Power is an obvious world of a difference but man, the handling is soo much better on the GSX-8R. Stability is part much wider rear rubber but the SHOWA forks are awesome. They are right on the money in this review.

The cbr is an excellent everyday bike, and it handles everything from short jaunts to touring perfectly fine

I've ridden the Suzuki gsx-8r, honda CBR 650 R, Kawasaki ninja zx400rr, and the Triumph Daytona 660. I ended up preferring everything on the Daytona, and even bought it for that reason.
I was torn between the Suzuki and the Triumph, but the Triumph just has a more versatile and smooth engine, superior comfortable seat, better crash protection (and other options), has more feel in the brakes and has better safety features (and lights). Also found the handling to be quite good to my surprise after the partly negative reviews.

Nobody in the world is gonna buy a ZX4RR and NOT get an ECU flash. That alone will help the bike tremendously.

the drag video is not complete. All 2-cylinders are faster on the first couple hundred meters because they have more torque at low-mid range. But as the drag race goes on further, the 3-cylinder engines will catch up with the 2-cilynders because they have torque from low to mid and a little bit high range. But through the finish line (assuming it is a longer distance race), the 4-cylinder engine will catch up with all 2 and 3 cylinder engines because a 4-cylinder engine is a high revving engine. Once it reaches the high range it goes really really fast. This is why you see honda cbr last at the start of the drag race, but I am sure it came up the first finisher. Perhaps zx4rr second.

The RS660 would be my pick but the 8R does seem to do it all! Suzuki masterpiece??!!!
