I hope to god that these timelines are met, this is one of the few sparks of light and of a possible future that is actually worth living in.

"It's 2017, we should have a lunar base by now. What the hell is going on?"

My favorite Elon comment by far.

I start the day by reading the news and get depressed. Then i usually head over to the SpaceX or Tesla or Hyperloop websites for a positive boost.

Cargo to Mars by 2022. Crew by 2024. Hope I can go by 2030.

Good luck SpaceX. Keep pushing the frontier of space exploration.

For those ragging on him for being nervous and stuttering; I was in there, there was 3500 people in the audience and it was being live streamed to millions around the world. Also this is basically the first official unveiling of the plan that his entire company has been working towards for the last 15 years. Pretty nerve-racking stuff.

12:30 fourth and final launch was a success. "Fate liked us that day." Our future could have possibly been decided that day.

The fact that he's a terrible public speaker makes me trust him a lot more

This is a moment in history that will never be forgotten. With the first launch of the bfr humanity pushes past the bounds of earth permanently. Remember this moment. The next 20-30 years mark the end of terrestrial bound humanity.

Could a moon base become a hub for any particular industry? Would be have our major aerospace engineering facilities there?

This is honestly one of the most inspiring presentations I have seen in my entire lifetime.
You definitely already have accomplished your goal of giving purpouse and motivation to humanity!

I am sure I am not the only one, when I say that you are my biggest Idol.
Thank you Elon for all you have given to humanity <3

Imagine the long distance relationships in 2040...
"Bae come over"
"I can't I live in Mars now"
"My parents aren't home"
"🚀"

Not long ago, within the last century or one lifetime, it was a challenge to build a 30 story building... Now we're launching it to space reaching hypersonic velocity... then landing it back on the ground... That's a BFR!!!
