Occasionally, I am tempted to get discouraged and question my decision to not settle. Waiting is hard and lonely, but I rather honor God and wait for His best, than settle and be unequally yoked, which would be 100 times more miserable than the temporary loneliness I feel right now. Honoring God always produces the best outcome. Thank you for this timely word, Mark.

I needed this. Ive been told that I’m too picky and will never get married because I don’t give anyone a chance. There is a guy from my church who has been showing interest and asked me out so I’ve really been trying to allow myself to get to know him. We’ve talked about personal convictions (music, movies, drinking, etc.) and a lot of them are very different. I do believe he still loves the Lord but I think I am stronger in my faith than he is. It’s been so difficult for me to decide if it is worth continuing to get to know him or not because I don’t know if me accepting these differences is me settling. I’ve always wanted a man who is stronger in his faith than me but it seems so hard to find and everyone keeps telling me not to give up on him and that he could grow and get there. Would love any advice or prayers 🙏🏼

Amen! This is a confirmation. I'm in an amazing relationship with Jesus and doing ministry while waiting. She has to have the same desire to minister and an amazing relationship with Jesus if God has someone for me.

As the years pass and you're still waiting but being proactive then what? Praying everyday and living life the right way. It's tough not knowing what the future holds but I know the Lord will meet all my needs

I'm a male 66 and never got married. I became a Christian at 23. I came close a couple of times but it never happened.

#3 is true for me. I was with a woman whom I met at a church I was attending. She seemed to have come after me, even though she's not an aggressive type. On paper, and especially with Faith, she seemed right for me. But for some strange reason I didn't "love" her. I liked her as a friend, but she wanted more. So many people tried to talk me into marrying her but I couldn't do it. Even though I'm still single, I have no regrets in not marrying her.

#1 was true for my sister who is 11 years older than me and she got married at 42 for the first time to a man 44 and he had never been married. My family and I didn't like him. My sister was a Christian but he came from a Catholic background, but not practicing. We didn't like him because he was opinionated and offensive. He certainly didn't act like a Christian. He didn't even want to get married, but my sister and others talked him into it. My family and I talked her out of it, but women at her church talked her into it. My sister was excited about getting married because she can quit her lousy job and have children. She didn't seem that excited about the man. After they got married my family became alienated.

And now with my sister and her husband, between their great jobs they had and four houses to sell between them, they have no money. They have to go to the food pantry to survive. They could have been worth at least a million dollars. And my sister keeps insisting that I should move in with them. That's the last thing I want to do.
