"A teacher at a Pflugerville ISD middle school, whose identity has not been released, has now been let go after a video containing an "inappropriate conversation" started circulating around social media.

In the video, a teacher is having a discussion with some students inside a classroom. It's not clear how the conversation was started at Bohls Middle School, but the teacher was captured saying, "Deep down in my heart, I'm ethnocentric, which means I think my race is the superior one."

He wasn't superior enough to not say that on tape and get himself fired.🤷🏾‍♂️

If your race were so superior?

Wouldn't YOU have been smart enough to not get fired?

How superior can you be if you spout that nonsense in a classroom and not expect to be filmed and then fired?

I grew up in a racist household. My mom called black people the N-word, and brown people either a Spick, or Wetback. I don’t think my dad was a racist, but he used the n-word to delineate people with the same name. My dad had a friend named Sarge. Our neighbor across the street was also named Sarge. So, he would call his friend Sarge, and our neighbor was n-word Sarge. In the summer between 1st and 2nd grade, neighbor Sarge had a pregnant sow. I wanted to see it give birth. I told Sarge the same. One day I’m on my bike, and he’s pulling out in his truck. He stops and tells me that he pretty sure she having her litter today. He was going into town but would be back in an hour. I asked what happens if she having her babies, and he’s not there. He let me go in his yard and keep watch until he gets home. When he got home I told him I thinks she giving birth right now. He looked at her and said, she’s about there, alright. He took his groceries in the house. About 10 minutes go by, and I start yelling: n-word Sarge, n-word Sarge, she’s having her babies! He comes running out, and he practically yells, What did you say to me! I meekly say (because he seemed mad) I just said that she’s having her babies. He said, no, I mean what did you call me? I was confused. I said, I called you Sarge. He said you called me sometime else too. I shrugged my shoulders, and said, n-word Sarge. He looked down at me, and asked me, do you know what n-word means? I said, I guess it’s a black person. He patted me on the shoulder, and said let’s watch out for (forgot the sows name) and I’ll tell you a story when she’s done. Afterwards he got me a soda pop, and we sat down. He told me about Mississippi. He told me about WWII. He showed the bullet scars on his chest, and his stomach on the side, and the one on his back where the bullet had come out. He told about what being in uniform and not being able to go any restaurants he wanted to felt like. He told me about his dead cousin who had been murdered, probably because he smiled and winked at a white girl. I was horrified at the things he had told me. I wanted to cry because I felt so bad about things that had happened to him, and his family, and friends that he had had. I told him that I promise I’ll never use that word again. He smiled and said, it ain’t against the law to use that word, but you’re a good boy. When I went home, my mom asked me if n-word Sarge’s sow had her piglets. I told her you shouldn’t ever say that! She was confused, and said, say what. I told her, n-word! N-word is a bad word! I told her some of what Sarge had said. She was so angry. She wanted to go across the street and tell Sarge off. My dad wouldn’t let her. She forbade me to go back over to his property. About a month later an ambulance was called out to his house. I found out later he had a fatal heart attack. I had never seen Sarge during that month except for a wave as he drove by one day. I have never broken that promise to him. And, I am so grateful for that long talk we had that day. It changed me in a way that I didn’t understand at that time. But, I sure understand now.

Someone needs to do a full investigation into that teacher and potential grading issues from previous classes and years.

My father was a young man in the 60’s. Teachers were told to tell black students to be carpenters etc manual laborers like that. Steered them away from professional careers. My father was smart, I mean Jeopardy smart! This is definitely what teachers did back them. There’s still some remnants of that thinking around today! It’s sad and wrong!

Salute to the young black man that said " I have no respect for you" more teachers male and female think just like this

Saddest part is his skin color is the only thing he thinks makes him special, obviously he looks back at his life and doesn't feel good about it.

I’ve been teaching 20 years and this conversation he’s having with these kids is unnecessary. The student saying he used to respect the teacher is heartbreaking to me. I’m glad the teacher is fired.

I like how the teacher's like "I'm not racist, I just think I'm better than you." which is, in fact, being racist.

I got an F in physics in HS because my teacher was a racist. He was German and he treated all the black students horribly! I remember he would say things to us in German and cackle after saying it. I went to the administrators about it several times, but no one believed me. They asked me for proof of my work in his class and my scores, when I brought them in no one wanted to challenge the grade he gave, NOT ONE ☝️ I ended up having to take that entire freaking class over with another teacher and big surprise… I got and A

As a black person I’m not in the least bit surprised. I had a teacher try to downgrade me from the highly gifted magnet classes to remedial classes because of one bad semester in one class. I was retested for the magnet program and scored college level in all subjects except for a few that were in 11th and 12th grade. I was in 7th grade at the time. I was ably to get a scholarship to a private school that paid more attention to students and I excelled there. How many black kids share my story?!

Those kids were more composed and well-spoken and logical than their teacher.

I am brown and came from a former British colony where I learned the queen's English. I moved to the US and in my university I wrote a paper for my English class. My white professor accused me of plagiarism because she found it hard to believe that as a brown guy I could write so well. Anyways, this was in the 90s and back then we did not have Youtube or cell phones, etc., so I was not in a position to challenge it. She told me to rewrite the paper for a C grade. I had to dumb down my writing and accept the C grade. The b-tch did die of cancer I heard. But I will never forget that incident. I have now won award for my writing at prestigious institutions.

I am a white guy who grew up in a majority black neighborhood in the 60s. It was a wonderful accident of birth. From an early age I got to know and love people who were different that me. But often when I was with a group of whites, they would say the most racist things about blacks WRONGFULLY assuming that I shared their views. I let them know exactly how I felt.

Now you see why they want to ban phones in schools. There's a legitimate argument against them in schools, but this shows why you shouldn't just remove them. Perhaps restrict what apps can be used and block them at the network level.

The thing that America needs to understand is that our GEN Zs and young students are best friends with students of all races and are not tolerant of racists. My grandson has ALWAYS had a group of multiracial friends. He doesn't know anything else.
