Dollar stores can be a fun place to shop. Young adults can go nuts decorating their first apartment in the city with dollar store products, and theater productions with a low budget can eliminate their costs at the dollar store, because they provide hidden gems that will be overpriced at fancy art stores.

Besides household decoration, kitchenware, and arts and crafts items, the dollar store also sells discounted food. It’s certainly not a destination to buy your groceries, but some candy and chips from the dollar shouldn’t hurt, right?

Buying the smaller bags (if you’re not sharing) is often the better idea even if it costs more per ounce. A dollar bag that I can eat myself in one sitting beats saving most of the bag and the chips going stale
