I get asked a lot about where exactly you need to hit the cue ball on shots that I play in my videos. In this video I show why you really have to work it out for yourself!!! #snooker #viral #fyp

Wow that makes so much sense

Never heard that before and I’m playing snooker years

Ultimately where we believe we are hitting on the cue ball is subjective and there is no replacement for getting to the table and figuring it out with your cue action. Thanks for the confirmation and confidence!

really great video, I've been playing snooker for 6 months on and off now mostly by myself and lately I've been going at it solo 1-2 hrs a day 4 days a week but never until now could I screw the ball back I'd either put side spin on it or keep it moving forward even after hitting it really low saw so many videos on how to do it but just couldn't it was really frustrating.Saw this video yesterday went to the club and tried to hit the screw back with cue coming downwards on the ball like you demonstrated and well now I am making 50% of my screw back shots the feeling was LOVELY, keep up the good work.cheers Micheal[Thank you :)]

IMHO this game is all about self analysis… as soon as I noticed that I was missing cuts on the thick side, applying a degree of helping side improved things massively. Great video, thanks.

michael tell us your thoughts about luca winning the world championship even though you didn't pick him to win against selby which is totally normal we all know how good selby is and his comback in the final showed it but man what a performance by luca with his attacking game the whole final and tournament and kept the lead all sessions .

I mean, it's still useful to see where they're hitting it - you can take into account their cue action to some degree, and a lot of the time people just want to see if it was played with side or not at all, even if the precision is dependent on cue height so some degree. Still, a great perspective!

I never had any trouble getting screw back on the cue ball. But I never really thought about it. Michael thanks for that. I really enjoy this type of video! Also your video on "helping side" was awesome too. Thanks.

Interesting, and of course it makes sense when you say it like that! Would you think about doing reviews of specific videos on other channels, saying what you think they get right, where you think they don't know what they're talking about?

Thank you Michael. I'm 52 and have been playing on and off since I was in my teens, and you've just answered a question I've thought about for years. Eureka! I'll have a play around with it on the table sometime this week if possible. Can I also ask you if the size of tip makes much differnce to the action one can impart on the cue ball? I tend to prefer a smaller tip around 9 - 9.2mm, but would a tip nearer 10mm impart more energy on the cue ball due to the slightly larger contact area? Cheers fella.

Great stuff. Just want to ask how Ronnie then gets top spin/ follow aiming down like he normally does;without getting the cue ball to slightly jump
