Hot take: This (England 2016-2022) was the greatest ODI side in history. Roy and Bairstow averaging 60 for the opening stand, regularly pumping out 100-0 within 15 overs. An in form Root coming in at 3 averaging over 50, Morgan, Stokes and Buttler all averaging 40+ and all in form coming in after. Then you had Woakes and Rashid to provide valuable lower order runs, even Plunkett was good with the bat. This side still holds the top 3 highest team totals ever. A shame to see how quickly it fell apart after Morgan retired.
