Nvidia's disgusting anti consumer move number 17 this year alone.
Thank you, Steve! Thanks for the strong and reasonable words!

Like Nvidia said, this is to offer consumers more options. I mean who doesn't want the option to receive less at the same price?

Looking at those graphs just makes you realise how good the RX 6600 is for the price.

I love that even after the whole drama of Nvidia threatening to withhold products, you still hold them accountable and challenge them. Doesn't seem to be a lot of people talking about this so good on you. We need more reviews like this.

This sure does make the RX6600 for around $205-230 look even more appealing

Recently made the switch to an AMD GPU for the first time picking up a used 6800 for $350 and also upgrading to a 1440p monitor... I am very pleased. Honestly safe to say with Nvidia's 3080 12gb "unlaunch" and now this 3060 8gb.. NEVER buying anything Nvidia EVER again. I assume I speak for a lot of people here. Keep up the great content guys and keep hammering Nvidia for their anti consumer shenanigans.

This should be a 3050Ti at best; also cheaper.

This was me in 2016. I bought the GTX1060 3GB instead of the 6GB thinking it was only RAM difference. I didn't realize the main core was lowered too.

This is quite the improvement from Nvidia! From the get 1030 ddr4/ gddr5 being named the same for a 80+ % difference, to the rtx 4080 12 g being 35% lower performance, now they are down to the same named product only being 20% slower!!

Nvidia's new motto seems to be "Pay more for less!".

AMD cards are really starting to look extremely appealing in comparison.

Nvidia have never been particularly honest and trustworthy, but ever since they realised they could gouge their customers ridiculous amounts for their gpu's during the shortage, they've just hit another level. As a system builder, I've started recommending AMD cards as much possible and I tell my customers why.

Thank you for once again providing honest, data-driven reviews that call out the industry for greedy and unscrupulous practices. Its embarrassing that any country with consumer protections wouldn't be coming after practices and products like this. Thankfully, we have reviewers like you to pick up the slack and give us the hard truths.

This is, unfortunately, EXACTLY the kind of stuff I've come to expect from NVIDIA over the years. They've not only done this before, but they've gotten more and more brazen about scamming consumers over time.

That's really an anti consumer move from Nvidia. One might even confuse the RTX 3060 8GB Edition with the RTX 3060 Ti 8GB.

Glad to have you guys putting this stuff out there. my 2060 ko that I bought for $330 in 2019 is probably on par with this 8gb 3060. It would be cool to see a video comparing the two because a 2060 can be had for a lot less, used or otherwise.

This is actually disgusting. The audacity to pull this move after the 4080 12Gb backlash, unbelievable. I hope the tech press tears Nvidia a new one for this! Good job HUB. This is a instant like on the video.

Holy crap. I was actually looking into buying a 3060 vision from gigabyte. Now I'm seeing 8gb everywhere.
Guess I'm going back to AMD.

It blows my mind how hard Nvidia is actively trying to destroy their own brand.

Thank you for getting to the bottom of it and for informing everyone! Seems like 8 GB "3060" is more like 3050 Ti than the original 3060.

I think my 3080 that I got in 2020 will be my last Nvidia card for a while. I've used both (ATI) AMD/Nvidia for over 20 years, same with CPUs between AMD/Intel in that time. I'm not a fanboy but I've had a problem with a few of Nvidia's practices for a long time and now it's become a lot worse in recent years. Maybe it's time to just move on and hope others will stop feeding this machine as our purchases make them think we're ok with it.

Only way to make them change is for people to make a change to AMD GPUs. That's not to say AMD might act the same after some time but as for now, it's Nvidia that needs humbled.
