Nintendo's Sues Everyone! New Palworld Lawsuit Details

Palworld was just announced as a New PS5 game at Sony State of Play and yet it's missing from one very big region...Japan! And that's because Nintendo sues Palworld and the parent developer for copyright infringement...in Japan! At least there are a lot of new PS5 games coming and fun Sony state of play announcements out there!

Nintendo is back at it with their Nintendo lawsuit shenanigans as they announced Nintendo is suing Palworld and the parent company Pocket Pair Inc for Patent infringement based on their hit game Palworld! It's a Palworld vs Pokemon showdown exccept you wont be using pokeballs...it'll be fought in the court of law! Nintendo news time and Nintendo lawsuit time for Palworld

and the track record of Nintendo suing everyone is below in the description! this time its not Nintendo vs Emulation though!

Nintendo has sued every Switch emulation maker they can get their hands on (Yuzu emulator is gone, Suyu emulator is dead, Sudachi DMCA is a mess) and DMCA's Vimm's Lair and a ton of other sites...but what is their end goal? It all leads to Switch 2 and the Switch 2 hardware and Switch 2 rumors...I think?

This is a follow up video to last months video: Did Nintendo DMCA attack Vimm's Lair? Or were DMCA trolls involved? Lets find out! Because it turns out it WAS Nintendo and their partners that send the metric ton of takedowns to Vimm's Lair and Nintendo's emulation fight continues on...most likely due to iPhone emulation and retro game emulators on iPhone now being a thing! Plus Nintendo sent MORE DMCA takedowns to the Super Smash Bros modding community...and now the ESA and Sega are joining in too? WOW (or the Sega thing is trolling?)

Questions? Comments? Just leave them below and I will do my best to answer each and every one of them!

Nintendo can get over it. What this shows is that nintendo has no respect for the creativity that nintendo themselves inspired. The pocketpair devs saw a market for a game that pokemon refused to make. Nintendo failed their fans, so fans stepped up.

The fact that this has become a regular series is insane.

Hopefully the developer can use that Sony money to fight that Nintendo money. Also modern patents are mostly completely ridiculous.

Maybe the creators of the first ghostbusters movie should sue nintendo.

If Nintendo wins I’m selling my switch. They clearly show that rather than making quality games, they’d rather spend all that money making sure no one can compete with them.

So Nintendo is accusing Palworld for stealing their pokeball fuction, while Nintendo blatantly stole the main idea from Ghostbusters, namely the ghost / muon trap.
How classic for Nintendo.

Nintendo not saying what they are suing for could be a tactic in itself. Like withholding said info until whatever counter-measures that could be implemented expires, thus making the lawsuit even harder to fight. I don't like it, especially when we have to see a company like Nintendo do "dark" business practices.

Aggressive Nintendo on script. Will Nintendo ever be humbled? It seems like they're the industry's golden child.

At this point I’m surprised Sabrina Carpenter hasn’t been hit with a cease and desist for using the word Nintendo in her song Espresso.

I'm filing a patent for absolute garbage, and sueing Nintendo for everything that's come out since the Game Cube.

Honestly The TPC Patents have Basic Movement patented. They have free reign to sue whoever they want.

I hope Pocketpair fight this case out. Somebody has to eventually. The more legal wins Nintendo rack up, the more they are emboldened and become even MORE litigious. The industry will become extremely toxic if nobody fights back.

Been saying this for a decade now, Fuck Nintendo.
ALSO, a lot of these patents seem to have been made after the game was announced in 2021.
And looking over more of their patents, it seems like they are trying to monopolize the gaming industry.

I thought when Apple briefly had "oblong with rounded corners" as phone design patent was insane. This beats it 10 fold, that vagueness is flat out dangerous.

Love the systems and lots of the games, but I'm just gonna have to miss out as I really don't want to support a company that does this.

You know something is not right when Nintendo hires more Lawyers than people working on games.

Won't be long till Nintendo brings Criterion Games to court next for "copying Cruis'n's gameplay" with the Burnout series, despite both games being completely different (I.E. Burnout focuses on car to car combat, and Cruis'n is just about going from point A to point B. Also, while Cruis'n Blasts Switch port does have takedowns in both the arcade and Switch versions, especially since the camera slows down to put emphasis on the takedown in the Switch version, they're just there to give players extra money, while Burnout actually awards the player for such actions and gives cars to the player for it, and also Burnout is focused on circuit races and the first game actually takes inspiration from Thrill Drive, a Konami series)

I think that patent is CRAP!!! I think Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis own the patent on throwing out an object and capturing a monster. :P Prior art!!!

I know that Nintendo is behaving in a ridiculous manner, and it's actually pretty distasteful. That said, the Palworld devs could have made the game look a TINY bit different than a Pokemon game. I almost wonder if they wanted to see how far they could push it into Poke-territory.
