In the UK we are told:
1. Ask them if they are choking.
2. Tell them to cough, if they can.
3. Get them to lean slightly forward and give them up to five hard slaps on the back, between the shoulder-blades.
4. Perform up to five abdominal thrusts as shown in this video.
5. Repeat 3 & 4 until the choking is past.
6. Call emergency services and perform CPR if the blockage can't be cleared.

I know i could be a life saver and that choking is very dangerous. Because of that when my brother was choking I was looking for an emergency first aid video. The first videos came with an intro which is really not helpful in times of emergency. My brother was saved only because luckily there was some trained personnel nearby.

I was literally watching a baby who was saved from choking by a police officer and I thought maybe I should watch a youtube tutorial on how to save someone from choking and right at that moment my cousin choked on a peace of candy. This was meant to be.

lesson learned: chew your food properly or dont eat too fast and take your time when you eat



the downside is you might finish eating for an hour but the good thing is you have a less chance of choking
