You could tear off the excess trash bag and then drill some holes through the bottom and use that bowl as like a planter where you could plant things

Idk if concrete is the right material for the shapes and thicknesses you are goin for with those second two pictures. However ill bet you could use fiberglass or epoxy for a scaffold on which to form your mix, might work better. Good luck!

Most of those aren't made with straight up concrete, though. They have a fiber glass centre, and then are covered in concrete and polished afterwards. That's why they are so thin.

I use to spray Pam cooking spray & then pour in the plastic mold with concrete. Your work is fabulous!

You should grease the bowl next time, I work construction and when we use concrete on forms we use ‘form oil’ it’s basically oil you spray the forms with so when the concrete is hardened the forms come off easier 👍 hope that helps!!

Damn, people in this comment section really do be toxic for literally no reason. Your hobby is cool and I loved seeing something new. Don't let anyone put you down.

If you want to make those tables I think they're most likely made using concrete board. It's concrete that's bound up in a mesh and mostly dried already. You can wet it and form it to get those smooth flat surfaces.

If you end up trying something that requires greater strength, like a table, here’s a few tips: Look for high strength mortar. Mortar is just sand and cement (looks like you’re probably doing this already) but using grout or concrete will make a thin structure like this weaker in most cases. You can use concrete admixtures like a superplasticizer (I used Flow Control, found at Home Depot). Superplasticizer replaces some of the water weight with a polymer or other synthetic that increases strength, as more water makes the cement weaker. You can even make epoxy/mortar blends! They are commonly used in my state, mostly on bridges. Also, you can use accelerants or retarders to control set times, or add fiberglass to reduce cracking and add some strength. Admixtures are a big part of what makes modern concrete so capable. Mix at a 0.15 water/1.0 concrete ratio by weight to make the strongest mixes and add a superplasticizer until it reaches the desired consistency. My last table reached nearly 6500psi in three days from a 4500psi/28day bag mix just by using a super and adding fiberglass.

As a civil engineer that works in the field. Use oil. Motor oil works fine in a pinch. Form oil is best.

Since youre already into the cement stuff, you could try adding mosaic pieces too it. Its easy enough and lets you add color and designs if you want

We make these vases and sell it years ago, and I believe you have to use a fabric that absorbs water faster (cotton/canvas fabric type)... Once it's dried, you can re-apply a more watery cement mix so that it hardens better. We also paint it which makes the vases more stiff and keeps the shape of it better❤️
