What a fantastic idea! You can make this huge planter on site and avoid expensive delivery - avoid breakage during transport too. All with the same template. These planters cost a bomb to buy. Marvellous!

I saw people in Asia doing this exact thing years ago. This is not easy, but he did a great job! It is not regular cement and the sand is damp and packed down to keep the shape. I would love to have them in my yard!!

Hes adding lime. That's the "fiber".it holds the sand and cement together an keeps it from cracking. Mix 4 to 1. 4 parts sand, 1 part lime 1part cement. Slowly add water to be able to ball up in your hand. If you're wondering.

White plaster for pools is 3 to 1 crushed white marble and #2 white portland cement. Also don't forget a hole in the bottom. Also a piece of oval plastic out of the bottom of a gallon of ice cream for a bendi tool for shaping. Keep Smoothing out the cream as it comes up. A person could add pearlite for lightness. You would substitute some pearlite for some of the crushed white marble. Is that fiber some cotton or coconut fiber. It's white. Great Vid Bud. I love his Template. we used to use rhubarb leaves on top of sand as a template, it became pretty nice bird baths or shallow planters.
