How To screed concrete for beginners

Finally, a guy who knows how to properly screed. It warms my heart to see the concrete flat, sealed up, and ready to float.
We screed in a similar fashion but with a longer rod and two guys. We usually "cut" the mud 2 or 3 times in a slicing motion and then "seal" it. The other difference is we use come alongs instead of shovels to prep for the screed. Come alongs are faster and move more material.
These are the only guys on YouTube that I have found that come close to our efficiency in putting the mud down. Love it.

I use a screed like that but I'm still trying to figure out witch side the round edge gose. Do you pull the sharp edge or the round toward your self ???

It's easier to pull the concrete back with a come-a-long rather than a shovel.

Shorts ? Haha, get some concrete in your boots rubbing on your legs and ankles on a hot day and you’ll know what pain is… but I guess you can just wash your legs once your done…

You gotta get some rakes and get those guys behind you working, they’re leaving way to much concrete for you to screed
