I did read the comments. But some peoples will never change in there behaviors. If they think they are perfect in electronic so why there here on youtube watching videos and giving bad reviews. 🙄
Some says using a charger to test the led am not saying they are wrong. But think it will only light if the led is good.
But it won't led you know how much volts the led using.
That's the difference between a charger and a led tester.
Jimmy all your videos are good and it's a learning channel also for the new beginners.
Thanks likes yours keep it up 👆.

I think in diode mode, the "DMM" puts out 3 Vdc to test the component and about the same on resistance. I would have to read the Bible that comes with it. Chapter "Let there be light" in am sure it saw it!
Cool video. I hope you have one that shows the screen array on the back side. My son has failures on his 56" whatever, then sticks them in my garage, no complaints taped to it, no remote or power cord. Just wonderful thinking for a now 38 year old. They sit there because they I have no time, no space and low on my priorities!
Thanks!

Is it possible for a led to illuminate while you're testing it out of circuit with the multimeter but when you put it on the actual strip it's not going to get brighter like the beginning of your video and stays the same brightness? Or if it lights up with the multimeter then once it's in the circuit then it will get brighter when it's supposed to? Basically what I mean is it possible for the LED to not fluxuate brightness properly in circuit but still light up normally on its own

Long time, first timer here. Long time subscriber/fan. First time leaving a question. My backlights started going out one section at a time. I was left with 1/3 of the screen going dark. Now the TV shut down and won’t turn back. Aside from the LED backlights, you think maybe the mother board or power board is out? I’m going to crack it open. I got a new TV. This Vizio is going to be my guinea pig repair TV.

HELP: I have a tv with no back light. I have tested the LED strips and replaced the bad ones. All strips work when tested individually but they don't work when connected to the driver board. I have also replaced the driver board with a new one but still same thing. There were moments everything seemed to work fine but short lived.

@TampaTec : Thanks for the informative video. I am a newbie to DIY Due to a recent repair of our LG 47 Inch TV( same as described in your video black screen), we got the entire back light strips replaced. I am planning to re-purpose the light strips that were taken out. I saw in one video where the TV manufacturers connect these LEDS in Series instead of Paralell( or viceversa ) i could be wrong. however i do not know the voltage needed to connect them. i have 5 Led lights per strip & the connectors at each end are looking like they would fit VATTENSTEN IKEA USB strip power plug. Please advise. Thank you in advance !

Okay so now I got everything apart and it was exactly what I suspected which is why I asked my question earlier so basically my problem is the TV is working great but the very top from left to right is darker than the rest of the TV right where the top two LED strips are underneath. So I assumed it was one bad LED but now that I took it apart all the LEDs are lighting up individually so I don't know which one is the culprit I only have a multimeter so is this where the LED tester is superior ?because it's able to pump more volts to see if they go brighter or not?? Without that I have no chance of knowing which one is not going brighter if they're all lighting up the same. So since I have it all apart I'm just going to change a few LEDs that look a little bit more yellow than the others and hope for the best. it's still watchable like if you're playing hockey and the goalies at the top of the screen wearing a black Jersey you can barely see him but I'll just wear white jerseys for now.

Can you not check for very low resistance? Or is it because LEDs are low resistance?
