I have normal #s but an antibody. I guess I have a silent autoimmune disease. So frustrating! I wish I could find a dr that will listen to me! I’ve been suffering for 4 years and got worse 6 months ago!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT REQUEST AT END. Great informative videos! I've never heard anyone break things down like this, so thank you! I will share this page with everyone I know. My husband shared it with me. Can you please do a thorough video on Hyperthyroidism & Grave's disease? I 've been to numerous doctors & they don't have a clue of what to do.

That was an excellent explanation Dr Sung.

I wish you mentioned the third possibility about TV and antibodies.

Wait, so Hashimoto's can cause increased heart rate?? Why would a doctor ignore that if your complaint is a high rating heart rate and they find a high TPO rating?

Thanks for the great video! My sister has hashimotos diagnosed from child, and I (M-31) have had fatigue, uncontrollable anxiety, stomach problems of all kinds, lack of energy and fatigue for a long time. I tested myself and found out that my Tpo is higher but the rest is normal. It seems that my episodes might be because of the silent type condition. Time to go to the endocrinologist.

Right, you need to clarify that Hashimoto’s can sometimes start out as graves but end up with hypothyroid.
Need to clarify that on blood work a high TSH means you are hypothyroid. A low TSH means you are hyper thyroid.

Thank you for sharing this grade video with us! Are TSH levels stablished for teenagers during puberty?

What is a positive TPO OR TG antibodies numbered considered positive for either one or both?

Recent study has shown that high anti TPO correlate with high Ferritin levels! Like in my case…but I’m the silent type of Hashimoto…

Dear Doctor, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was put on levothyroxine but this is not a drug that is often used for hyperthyroid. Usually it is methimazole. However another provided that I see diagnosed me with hyPOthyroid. I am wondering if both providers are mixed up due to a typo or something else. I am experiencing a rash for 4 years, vitiligo, weight loss etc. I am wondering if this is because I am on Levothyroxine and I am actually on the wrong meds or being managed improperly. Please help me!. I understand medical terms so you can speak to me like I am a doctor. I am just having a hard time getting clarity about this, each doctor tells me to talk to the other doctor. I just need an outside perspective.

My doctors just told me I'm hypothyroid/thyroiditis so does that mean hashimotos?

well, how about a sky spike high anti-TPO with lots of annoying symptoms : fatigue, irritability, skin rushes - dermatitis saisonnières on\off, depression on\off, loss of hair .since few years, without any perturbation of TSH or T3, T4 all this in normal ranges !!!! and as well like unexpected, a elevated lymphocytes (the rest of blood work normal)

Why do regular Dr’s only speak about TPO antibodies? My TPO is low (20) but my Tg is high (99>).

My TSH varies (depending on my diet) somethings healthy range, sometimes not.
My Free Thyroxine is always low end of normal. Not on meds.

My GP was concerned for me, but the consultant said Tg is irrelevant, they only look at this antibody in post cancer patients.

Please can you help us understand this? I’m sure I’m not the only one with this confusion.

My tpo is 1300
My TSH is 0.02
My T4 is 28.6
I’m waiting for a follow up with my gp to find out if it’s graves or Hashimoto’s disease
