3 Supplements to Lower Thyroid Antibodies in Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

Are supplements effective at lowering thyroid antibodies? Sometimes! It depends on the person and their nutrient status but here are some that have been proven to be effective both from the perspective of research studies and from patient anecdotes. 1. Selenium - Selenium has been shown to help reduce thyroid antibodies likely through its impact on glutathione production. 2. Nigella sativa or black seed oil - The active ingredients in black seed oil have been shown to have both a pro-thyroid effect as well as a thyroid antibody-lowering effect. 3. Vitamin D3 - Supplementing with vitamin D3 has been shown to reduce thyroid antibodies in some studies. Based on my experience, patients with deficiencies in these nutrients tend to see the most benefit but they are usually worth a try because they are cheap and potentially effective ways to manage thyroid antibodies. #hashimotos #thyroid #thyroidantibodies #thyroidperoxidase #thyroglobulin

I've been tracking my basal body temperature first thing in the morning since about November. With hypothyroidism, it's low, as you might imagine. Once I started taking black seed oil about a month ago, I've noticed that every time I take it (a half teaspoon in the morning and at night) my basal body temperature the next morning is noticeably higher than it used to be. Can't wait to see what my next blood test shows. I've been taking selenium since last September. Before meeting my doctor last September I was taking 10, 000 IU's a day of Vitamin D, and with my first test my doctor was worried about me being way too high in Vitamin D, so she wanted me to take Vitamin D once a week instead, let my body adjust. It was six months after lowering my Vitamin D that suddenly I'd developed Hashimoto's. I've started taking more Vitamin D again, so we'll see how that looks on the blood test.

I've also done keto since 2017. A lot of the dietary adjustments I've already done.

All of those supplements are excellent! Personally I've taken 40, 000 IU:s of D, 3 daily and cut back to 20, 000 when I feel better. D, 3 actually does put autoimmune conditions in remission.

Among other things, I used a very expensive D3 liquid supplement for 3 months. No change in my thyroid

Black seed oil with 5% thymoquinone made me super energetic for a few days followed by a big crash for a week. I'm still taking it and my reaction seems to have evened out, though.

I have been dizzy and almost every day since I started my hypothyroid medication, and I do take selenium with it.

I took 20, 000 I.U.s of vitamin D3 per day plus I removed dairy and ate low fat. I started off with my TPO antibodies at 154. Three months later, it was 100. I did the same for the next three months. My TPO antibodies were at 60. All I needed for Hashimoto's to be in remission was to get the number below 35 on the lab test.
But, I foolishly stopped what I was doing and just ate what I wanted and I stopped taking vitamin D3. My TPO antibodies went up. Well, I consider it a learning lesson. I am back on my low inflammatory diet and taking vitamin D3 at 20, 000 IUs per day again. I get tested soon. But this time, I will get it into remission and I also have a backup. I am going to try this thing that this woman mentioned when everyone was texting in a blog. I am going to do fasting at the end of this after I get my TPO antibodies down to normal limits and stop the autoimmune attack. I am going to drink water only and not eat food for 72 hours or a little longer. It resets the immune system. This woman told her story. She was sick for nine days and she could not eat. She only drank water. She went to her appointment and it was already set up to test her TPO antibodies. She got the test results. It had gone way down. The doctor was shocked. They talked and figured out what happened. Well, he told her to do the fast again in six months. He said to try the 5 to 9 day fast. She did. She came back. Not only did her TPO antibodies were down to normal range, she was able to get off thyroid pills. She said that three years had gone by and she still no longer has the autoimmune disease and her thyroid is fine. So, this is my plan after I get the TPO antibodies down to zilch. I am going to fast a little past 72 hours. When you break the fast, use bone broth, pre and probiotics to start your gut off right.

It must be ensured that no medication is used until a medical appointment before it is examined, and it must be early in the morning before it appears in order for it to appear to you correctly.
