This video explains why I choose a high power lens and can give people an idea on whether they should test a high power lens or stick with a lower power lens for their archery set up.

It’s really awesome seeing someone on tv that you like and finding they have their own yt channel, especially when they’re elites in their sports.

Thank you so much for this - You just sold me on bumping up higher, because I also find a giant target "comforting"

Many thanks for this upload! Panic attacks are horrible but we can learn to fight them! Nice work!

Good insight into your reasons for shooting a high mag lens. 👍

I will say that high power lenses, because the target looks closer to your eye, you get a finer aiming point and therefore might see a bit more wobble if you're just getting into it and aren't sure about your form. Personally, I started with a 4 power lens and I am perfectly alright so far with shooting, it gives me a bit of comfort that the target looks bigger and I can relax a bit, and if I use a big dot I don't see any wobble. That changes however if you go to a 6, or an 8 power. 1st, you might need a clarifier, and if you're in rainy and foggy conditions good luck trying to not have that thing fog up. Clarifiers come in many powers, but if you choose to use one, you need to change a peep sight to a threaded peep sight with adjustable apertures like ones that Specialty and Hamskea offer, which will cost some more cash. Some people can go without a clarifier for a 6 power, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Hope this helps some of you!

When I shot 3D archery years ago I used a 8 power lens and it helped me out. Great video. Great reason for why you use a high powered scope. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks a lot!!! ❤ i really apreciated. Ouff, i just baught fiew day ago (its on is way) a Shrewd OPTUM 29mm with all the bell and wistle with a X6 lenses. I was afraid to not buy the good one. Thanks for the advice.
I tried a X8 and im not ready yet. Lol (Dot move to mutch for me).
Thank you also for the info on the Dod size and color.
Its really hard to have good answers. To mutch false info on the internet and a lot of diferent opinion.
Its hard when you are a beginner like me and try to buy the good stuff ones. And to have real good true answers on these subject (archery).
Thanks a lot, its really appriciated!!! Looking forward for your next videos

I read a question about size clarifier. You’ll need a red #3. With that you’ll have to adjust the peep size depending on the distance to eye-to-lens. I’ve been using an 8X for 5 years coming from a 6X. It takes quite awhile to get use the the movement. Don’t quit after a few days. It took me about 3-4 months to really feel good about it. I’ve broken 3 USAA Nationals records with the 8X. If you can handle the mental movement after a couple of months, go further with the 8X. It’ll pay off.

Hi Paige. I like what you are saying about the higher lens but until I get an steadier aim I would be sea sick all the time. I will try your wrist technique for an steadier aim. Thanks again. 🏹🤠👍

Hello Mrs Pearce.
Again thank you for your info.
As you said, indeed a high power lens is not suited for all :)
I have however two other questions.
You talked about target and 3D on regards of lens power but also sight picture and scope size. What about Field where you need the clear view for measuring the target-distance - and thus rather a 6 power or matbe 8-power lens... while still being able to fit the whole target in the scope?

Also a large size scope might help ... but how do you manage to still being able to lign out the peep with the scope (of you barely can see the sides or outer ring of the scope as it is big)
Thanks in advance for your advice AND time!

Here again, I fully agree and think that I am in your team of big magnifiers. I like to have a big picture and a big yellow taking all the space on my sight. One question though, do you use clarifiers in order to still see the fiber correctly? In the positive, would you please share the clarifier # that you use? many thanks Paige, Cheers.

Paige, Great video. As I get older it's harder for me to focus on both the pin and the target. Will a magnifying lense help me with this problem? or is there something else you could suggest? Thx.

Paige, what clarifier do you use on a 9 or 10x lens? I have a #3 red Specialty Archery clarifier, but it does not clean up the target face. I also have a Hamskea Peep setup I will try the D lens. I shot a few lanes away from you in Lancaster this past week or so ago on the Practice range upstairs and in the back on the astroturf range and was amazed with how great you were with each and every one that approached you. I loved to see how much time you spent with the young girls, as soon as my granddaughters are old enough, I will have a bow in their hands and your videos on their tablets. keep up the great work you are an inspiration to all young ladies.

I've seen people that use the high power lenses sometimes hit the target to the left or right of theirs and getting a miss even though it's a 10 in somebody else's target.
