This is the single most useful piece of info I’ve ever received in my 12 years playing the sport. Legend!

Thank you for this, I have my range drill for tomorrow. No reason my 4 iron should be peaking at 150 feet in the air.

Nice tips. After 25 years of being frustrated by hitting irons too low, some recent swing changes have suddenly inverted my issue so I'll be working on a closed face on downswing.

This described my iron shots to a tee. I started playing again after a 15 year hiatus and have been incredibly frustrated by my lost/inconsistent distance e.g. 10+ yards off my 7-iron and this is with newer clubs and balls. I went out to play after watching this and on the 1st hole I had 196 to the pin and was expecting a "lay-up" with my 4-iron...I tried your suggestion and knocked it 10 feet from the pin. I kept at it and had the best round since my prime (a 75 which would have been 72 except for 2 iron shots where I fell back on my old swing). I even started doing it with my driver and 3-wood and got back to my long hitting days. Thank you.

Older video so don't know if you see these comments anymore, but thank you! Your explanation is the first that made sense to me as a high ball hitter! I've managed to compensate for it well but this actually got me to realize how to fix it. Thank you!

amazing, just went to the back yard to work on my swing. Your drill makes a lot of sense. I have a net and a launch monitor, just hit my 9 iron 155. Not bad for a 65 year old. Thanks

Can't wait to try this on the range as high ball flight on my short irons has been a problem for years. I have worked on trying to get my hands ahead to no avail. Your drill makes a lot of sense. Enjoy your videos, simple to follow and clear. Thank You

This is the best explanation I've come across with my lofty ball flight that I've struggled with for years. I can't wait to take this drill to the range and work on it. Thank you! Subscribed!

Great video. I’m hitting my
Iron a very long way but the ball flight is also very high. The wind is killing me this winter! Thanks for explaining so simply. Great advice.

This covered so much of what is a major flaw in my swing, can't wait to test it on the range later and see what's going on.

A fantastic lesson I have been fighting this problem for years but never understood the solution, I knew I was releasing the club too quickly. Starting today I now have a program to work on thank you very much.

This is supremely helpful! Thank you for sharing the 'why' behind the 'what' to do. I have the same type of shot, no divot/super high/mostly straights) I will go out and try that at my local range as soon as it opens up (Damn you Covid!)!

Excellent video, Chris. I must definitely try this on the range ASAP as I am struggling badly enough from this strike defect. Just saying, Mark Crossfield also has a good older instruction video with another drill, but basically the same message of needing to reduce dynamic loft presented at impact.

Great lesson using new technology to prove/show very old common problem. I like the teaching aid to exaggerate the closed face, on the down swing. I have been practicing with my lie angle at set up…slightly closed, but after watching this video, I realize that my approach is working on short 1/2 swings, as I am compensated, but it is not helping when I need it. 180 yard carry with a 25 yard ravine in front of the green. 😀. I also feel that my downforce strike is not vertical to my target line it….It more of a push out…which might, be perception…..as I am trying to prevent the dreaded low left screamer…. One other question about hitting off a mat, is there a trick to know you are getting a good divot, without the use of technology? My carry distance on a mat always seems 10% longer than it is on the course. The good news is that it is always a great confidence builder going to the first tee.😀😀. Have fun play golf!

I've only really come back to dedicated golf in the past couple of months -- was a reasonable golfer as a kid but had over 25 years playing maybe once or twice in total. I've noticed excessive height in recent weeks -- straight flight, and only really "bruise" the grass blades on full shots, and losing quite a bit of expected distance as the ball balloons somewhat (while my swing thought is about exploding my lead shoulder through the shot). Doesn't happen as much with my driver, but certainly my irons. Looking forward to putting this into play at the range later today.
