Batteries rule everything around us. You don’t always see them, but they’re there. Every night I plug in multiple devices to charge, so they’ll get me through the next day. But most people have never actually seen the batteries inside of their devices, have any idea how they work, or know what to do with them when the get damaged or die.

That 2-3 year lifespan is exactly why we need replacable batteries back until they can do 5 to 10 years.

NGL, had just this year replaced my car battery on my 2015 RAV4. 9 years isn't too bad but a different chemical makeup than a phone battery may help.

Bought an iphone 5 battery from ifixit after 2 months the battery started to die even it said it had 60% of charge left replace under warranty twice with the same issue. Got a battery from etradesupply no issues so far and it has been a year. ifixit has great tools except for the batteries.

My cell phone I presumed already has factory setting to detect low battery power. Therefore if I did inadvertently reach at a "0%" juice then my cell phone would prompt me and indicate, " slow charge" or change to the correct charger cable. Some other warning similar to it.

The battery is good, not the same though. Factory setting, not that much. Battery will charge on your phone, but not the same way. Stop and charge up on point, once you predict or see that you've reach below this mark. Zero < 30% battery power left. Stay above 30 > though to avoid the batteries reserve warning.

I noticed that my phone charged at a higher rate just before I reach 30% hurdle or mark. If I paid attention.

Sadly, charging below 30% reserve, forced me to charge it up (slow), I would then overlook the, " slow charging" or the "incorrect charger cable" prompts by powering off.

The battery will charge quicker. Either way I had to eventually replace the battery. Less of a hussle that way.

I was hoping this video would bust some myths about charging your phone. Some people say don't let your battery run completely empty, some say never charge up to 100% etc, etc. Anyone know a video which explains how to correctly take care of your phone battery? Ideally one with backed up sources

car batteries change every 5 years? :D the battery in my car is about 12 years old and makes about 125% of the nominal power.

a lead battery holds definitely longer with good care.
