The most wonderful thing is when two people with ADHD talk. They go all over the place, and neither of them care. I love it. It's why my best friend and I get along so well.

"Hey you want to go outside" that is most ADHD thing to do, just ask an ominous question while holding a random object

My brain: what do you mean, this is a perfectly normal conversation.

My strategy is to just find other people with ADHD so we can have our weird conversations in peace.

honestly when people talk to me like that, it's so entertaining and I could listen for hours. I have ADHD, and that's one of the few parts of the disorder that I don't want to change at all. I never run out of things to say and the conversation rarely gets boring. if you have a good sense of humour to add to that, and try to be mindful of people's reactions (e.g. try to notice when it gets a bit too much for them or when they're not in the mood), it's a wonderful superpower.

Me telling a story to someone: "Where was I going with this?" Them: "I have no idea"

Can't tell you how many times I have stopped a conversation and wondered: "How the hell did I get here???"

I have ADHD, but... All of this happens inside of my head. I'm vocally very introvertive. I'm too busy lost in my only little world.

stop. this is way too accurate 😩 Im very shy and introverted but once I feel comfortable talking to someone, I do EXACTLY this 💀

When people say the conversation "just flows" when I talk to them. They have adhd.

The moment when you follow the whole story and it doesn’t seem weird at all 😅

“That’s not the wrist I broke” is so authentically ADHD 😂 I do that all the time

The thing is, when you have adhd, you don’t even realize that it’s odd. Your brain segues between things so quickly that it makes sense to you to be talking about it, but to everyone else you just randomly switch topics every ten seconds.

Eg:

“Hey can you pass me that egg?”
“Hm? Oh sure”

And then in my head I go

‘Egg… that sounds familiar… like… *egg* … what was that from?? Oh yeah that video of a seal’

“Hey have you seen that video of a seal saying egg?”
“Wha- no I don’t think so? Where did this come from?”
“Uhm I don’t know I just thought of it”

I also tend to not finish a sentence or story (for whatever reason) and then think about it every now and then, and then a long while after I’ll just pick up the story again as if nothing happened, eg:

“so I was thinking to myself, ‘oh god, that could be bad”
“Yeah, but it’s not a big deal”
“Yeah you’re right”

(We go shopping and once we’re literally in the car to go back)

“But anyways, I thought “oh, that might be bad-“
“Wait what? What are you talking about?”

I would like to clarify that this is all from experience, this may not be the same thing that everyone with adhd deals with, and that’s ok, this is just my personal experience of what happens

When he said “wanna go outside” and held that grabby thing, I can’t tell you why, but it made perfect sense to me. Well I can tell you why. It’s because I also have adhd.

I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years almost, and he still either laughs or gets annoyed at me for having 10 conversations at once 😂😂.

Finally, a convo I can keep up with.
It was hella entertaining

That sounds like how my diagnostic interviews went. I had to ask what the question was a few times.

I always thought I was so cool and full of enthusiasm and could not figure out why people never really liked me. ADHD!
