The Greek debt crisis has saved the German government some 100 billion euros in lower borrowing costs, a new study has found. According to the non-profit Leibniz Institute of Economic Research (IWH) in Halle, these savings exceed the costs of the crisis.

10 billion Euros (100-90) is not such a big gain after all. I seriously doubt Germany went into all this mess (including geopolitical flak) for just 10 billion when its yearly budget is in the trillions. Also, as the video shows, even if the German State has some gains, the Germans as citizens might lose, which is something German politicians are surely paying attention to.
