I guess, people should learn from Germany to make use of opportunities timely and how to Negotiate :-)

The word he was looking for is 'narrative'.

Two debtors are not equal. Not equally worthy to receive debt forgiveness. Not equally likely to repay the loan. Not equally trustworthy. Not equally valuable on the market. The country that got "THAT" doesn't wanna give "it" to the Greeks? Germany could not have gotten the same deal Greece could because those are two different countries, carrying different amount of risk, having different value on the market. $ 10 billion loan to Germany & $ 10 billion loan to Greece is not the same deal. There is no "THAT" available for Greece to receive

Mr. Wolff fails to mention that due to the second Hyperinflation after WW II the Reichsmark and all the assets that were valued in that currency were devalued.
Greece is still in the EURO Zone. Without a grexit there is no way to force a debt forgiveness. But Greek people seem to love the stability the EURO has brought to greece not realising that its this stability that destroys their economy because they can never ever compete with germany or even other european countrys. As long as the greek people want to stay in eurozone syriza as no negotiation power. I could not blackmail the EU the same way the EU and for that matter the EZB blackmailed greece. There was no plan B and now its hell to pay for the greek people!

It's obvious that there has to be debt forgiveness but in return there need to be high-quality reforms aka spending cuts.

Germany paid the last (unjustified) debt rate resulting from WW1 on October 1st, 2010.

The US Marshall Plan aid after WW2 was given to Germany not as a present but as a loan. And it was paid back including interest.

So far for debt forgiveness.

well the thing is, THOSE DEBTS WERE ADQUIRED BY A DIFFERENT GOVMNT, the weimar republic, nazi germany and fed germany were VERY DIFFERENT NATIONS AND ENTITIES.

The greek gvmnt on the other hand is the same institution that is now looking to sway public opinion trough "intellectual" irresponsibility advocates.
