My brother who had downsyndrome passed away in 2015. He was such a happy and kind person. The fact that there are such terrible people out there just makes me sad. I just cried my eyes out, because I miss my sunshine even though it's so long ago. Now I work as an educative therapist because I want to give my clients the amount of love my brother gave me.

My little sister is 5 and has down syndrome and I’ve seen the way MANY people (including family and family friends) have treated her, so these people genuinely warm my heart.
Being disabled doesn’t change anything. Everyone has feelings. Being rude to somebody for something they can’t control is disgusting.

"I hope I'm not bothering you" that's a phrase I've heard a lot of people with down syndrome and other mental challenges use. They are way more self aware than the average person bc people do bash them so much. It's honestly so sad.
