You'd be forgiven for not realising that the 2024 SsangYong Musso is a thing. After all, it competes in the incredibly competitive mid-size ute segment, which is currently dominated by the Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux and Isuzu D-Max. Needless to say, the Korean model has its work cut for itself.

It's no surprise, then, that the Musso has been given an update to keep it fresh against its rivals – and that's before you take into account the very recent arrival of the next-generation Mitsubishi Triton. Either way, the SsangYong has upgraded to a 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system (up from 8.0 inches) and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster (up from 10.25 inches), plus there's more.

Own the Rexton which Musso is based on and basically suv version of the musso. Great car, build quality is great and service centre has been good so far. Highly recommend.

Have 2023 model, happy with it. 25, 000km so far, so good. ANCAP needs to be understood, treat the Musso as a 4 seater, enjoy no driver facing camera. - Check Cadogan's new triton review.

Most Korean vehicles are fantastic & I think they will be large players in the future of utes. Ps give more manual transmission options 🙏

We.are going to get this as its cheap with a 7yr warrenty. Not interested in paying through the nose for a Hilux or Ranger.

Bought the 23 musso short w/b cant update the nav system, dealer says ring the main company (still waiting for email) now the dealer i bought it of does not recommend a bull bar, too many problems with cameras etc, starting to regret this purchase>>>

It would be good if these reviews would include some basic specs like wading depth and suspension upgrading. Before anyone buys this Ute you really need to look at the specs. Wading depth is 220mm, any sort of creek crossing will potentially void your warranty. You can’t lift the coil model over 43mm without upsetting the pinion angles, you can’t adjust the trans or diff angles in the coil model. Warranty support to disgusting, far better of with a base model triton or go to a cannon, at least GWN provide half decent customer support

frustrating looking at vehicles, seeing the price and thinking thats not bad, then hit with "this is ABN pricing in the fine print"

It's good to know there's plenty of leg room for someone that's 168cm tall. That narrows the field greatly.

I have owner a Musso for about 3 years. One annoying feature is the radio dominance. I turn the radio off but everytime you access the radio features like Android auto it will default back to radio. It will automatically start even though you turned it off on the last drive.
Another annoyance is that the seat temps have to be restarted on every drive, why can't it be left on from the previous drive.
Another annoyance is the screen access button has no 'back' feature and it is frustrating to be forced to rotate through the menus.

Prefer this over the LDV and GWM… never have a DPF issue unlike the other 2.

the arm rest should also have a hole in the middle so you can put 2 child seat without struggling

Well it's a race to see which manufacturer can create the biggest front end grill, so when you hit a pedestrian they are definitely going to get the full force.

as other have said, better off getting gwm, there is a few reasons to why. Gwm is selling about 4k cars a month (up a lot YOY) vs ssangong which is down a lot and only selling a few hundred cars a month thats 1/10 the sales of gwm. GWM also looks nicer, has adaptive cruise, more mods, lane keep, other safety stuff. I can't talk about reliability but I see way more gwm cannons than these on the road

Centre screens shitting themselves, non exsistant after sales care. Driveline vibration at 80kmh that nobody seems to be able to fix? Yeah real good value!😂😂 Was seriously considering one till i done the research. Wouldn't go near one now.
