Ep256: Now you don’t need a fancy dovetail jig to get a major assist in cutting perfect dovetails. All you need is your tablesaw and a special saw blade. Well, the second requires your hand-cutting prowess, but that step is greatly simplified by this tablesaw technique. I would use the table saw for the pins too. It cuts much nicer than chisels, especially in hardwood. Could you also use the sliding table saw (in the background) to cut the tails?

Very nice. You made it look fairly easy, but I suspect it would be more of a challenge for this novice. But I enjoy watching and learning.

With all due respect to your skills as a tablesaw user, I must say that cutting DT with a tenon saw, a marking knife, a marking gauge and a bevel gauge is so simple, straightforward and requires absolutely no single-use type tools, not to mention a several thousand dollar table saw? I do this all by hand and by eye, no complicated jigs used or needed!
