those flow lines are usually from improper injection settings (injection speed too high iirc) and not necessarily a flawed design though. That's like printing with wet filament and blaming the process for a poopy part :-/

Injection molding have parting lines and spruce scars . Just people are used to seeing them and it’s never pointed out .

Amen! There are not better or worse manufacturing methods; each one has its own advantages, disadvantages and niches!

Or you could think of injection molding as having defects that we are so accustomed to that we think it’s normal and anything that’s not normal is bad.

It all depends on how you finish it though because you can get rid of them easily

Do they fail to realize or are people accustomed to it and simply ignore the minutiae

What i absolutely hate about injection moulding is the flashing/parting line, it always bothers me. Half the time when i buy something, i have to knock it down a little. Are people just not bothered by them? It's rare that an injection moulded item actually impresses me with quality.

But thing is injection moulding any effort to alleviate its issues is mostly a one-time cost for most things, which is both a good and a bad thing. Or by the time you have to remake the tool the extra cost is well amortised.

Some times layer give the model personality.

You need to dry those granules and slow down your injection speed...

Is there a name for that particular defect in the injection molded part?

Molding is a better process, but also more expensive.
