Get a flat tire on the freeway? Here's what to do.

If you step out of your car while on the interstate, even for a moment, you put yourself at risk of serious injury or death. It doesn’t matter if it’s a flat tire, running out of gas or getting into a crash, do not get out of your vehicle on the freeway. If possible, pull off the freeway, or at least pull over to the right shoulder, and keep your seat belt fastened. Stay in your car, call 9-1-1 and wait for further instruction from dispatch.
