I have autism and I’m totally blind. I can’t stand in lines for extended periods of time. On a recent trip to Disney World I was denied that disability pass, twice. They spoke with me about the return to cue option. When I talked to cast members in the park, they had no idea what that was. According to the cast member I spoke with over the phone, they don’t give it to you based on your diagnosis. They give it to you based on symptoms you have. And they don’t accept doctors notes either.

Once again, thank you for your continued coverage on the DAS issues. It helps our community so much by the continued highlight of this poor change.

I’m not surprised. There was a cast member who was languishing from sepsis in the hospital. He was terminated for no call no show, because Disney rejected his medical leave form because of a typo on it.

Not that I ever plan on going back to the parks (not the American ones at least), but as someone with autism, I would gladly give up my space to someone like that woman's father, or anyone with a more physical disability. Disney's attitude just gets more gross every day, I swear.

I was denied DAS today at Disneyland and the cast member treated me so badly. She was rude, crass and impatient. I asked her for her name and place she is from and she said she rather not and hid her name tag. I told her it was just for documentation and I would never complain. I’ve been approved for DAS many times before the switch. It’s such a huge betrayal. I was just looking into joining DVC, to buy over 300 points and having a Disney wedding as well as hosting all wedding events with at least 200 guest . We were even thinking about renting out a ride for our guest as well. None of it feels right to do anymore. I cried for hours at the park. And the thing is with DAS I only ride about 2-3 rides when I visit. I have an inspire magic key and I don’t see myself renewing. Nor the DVC and definitely not my wedding. Some may say why not just buy a lighting lane then and just shut up. It is the principle. It is discriminatory to accommodate a type of disability and not others! Who’s to say certain people struggle more than others. It’s just not right and I can’t stand behind this and stay silent!

Shame on Disney! This policy isn't working. Too many people who should have this service are not getting it. Not everyone can physically stand in long lines or can use lightning lanes.

Thank you for being one of the few Disney news channels that still care and report on this joke of a situation with DAS. You managed to save the CBJ, hopefully it will work with DAS.

The new and revised DAS is just plain awful. I understand that there were folks out there taking advantage of the system just as the previous DAS process was being abused. But now it is just shutting the door to folks who need something

We were told the same "Autism is the only condition that earns someone DAS" after an hour wait at Guest Relations and a 20-minute talk with an Advent Health doctor who clearly had zero understanding of early onset dementia and its devastating effects on an individual.

Disney disgusts me the way they deny someone with a legitimate reason to need das. They also say only autistic people get it. Not true. My autistic son was denied this summer. Shame on you disney.

After hearing about the terminal ill man being denied DAS I am done with Disney parks. Beyond despicable. I have balance issues and standing for any length of time knocks me off my feet literally looking like I am drunk or stoned. To go to one of their parks and trying to go on rides would be challenging . Even using a cane. I respect the vision walt disney had and am planning a solo trip next year. Heading to Hawaii instead of a Disney park.

My wife has agoraphobia and anxiety. Disney signed us up for DAS once when she had an anxiety attack in line. Since then we've always used it with Genie+/Lightning Lane. We went to renew it for our upcoming trip and they told her no and their solution was "Don't go on any rides then, go to a gift shop instead"

We did not renew due to them turning down my DAS. It’s no fun if I am separated from my family.😢

I love Disney parks, but this is just shameful. If someone has terminal cancer, their last day could be any day now, and you really wanna deny them a good memory like that? That’s just vile.

Disney is become one of the worst companies while still being praised. Nothing is going to change but it's wild to see these headlines and people still think Walt or Eisner were terrible people.. Trying to get out of a death lawsuit, denying das, trying to hush employees, cutting jobs and roles etc.. All while increasing prices, losing the magic part and becoming a generic carnival.

I have multiple operations in my front chest and in my back, and I told them I can't be standing that long in line, and they told me, "We're very sorry, but we can't give you DAS".

I tried to call today about qualifying for DAS for the third time. I have new information from my doctor to bolster my request. I was not allowed to talk to anyone. I was given the list of three accommodations from my prior calls. One of those is the process to follow if I need to exit the line. One is to join my party in line. I have forgotten the third. Those don’t accommodate my issue. Simple explanation is I have a condition that can lead to me suddenly lying on the floor unresponsive. I asked how I will exit the line if I’m lying on the floor unresponsive. The answer? A cast member will call Disney’s EMTs. Then the chat was terminated. Wonderful.

Joining my party? I have an adult pushing my wheelchair and a 5-year-old in my party. During my second call they suggested one of those two go through the standby line and the other can push me to meet up at the merge point. I said that can’t be done. They asked why. That’s when I knew they weren’t even listening to me.

They suggested rider switch during my first call. The other two would ride then I could ride with one of them. Really?

This system is horrible. How can it be called a DISABILITY Access Pass and then deny those with disabilities, even some who have autism which they claim the pass is for. This is the worst, and at this point I hope Disney gets sued.

When you had free fastpass there was never a problem with DAS now that you have to pay for everything Disney believes they are missing out on a couple of dollars over the last 10 years Disney has turned into a horrible company

I’m disabled by a rare disease and use oxygen among having other debilitating issues. Disney literally brought my family to happy tears bc with the old DAS I could experience Disney like a somewhat normal guest and participate with them for once. It’s sad that that possibility is gone now.
Without DAS, I’m also not sure how cast members would know everyone who needs extra assistance or a special ride vehicle. That was vital to the accessibility for me as they would ask me as soon as I scanned in with my DAS. I don’t see how I could go back to Disney until things change which makes me very sad.
I mean, We don’t get rid of disabled parking bc some people abuse it. That was such a poor excuse to no longer make DAS for physically disabled people🤦‍♀️
