This scene sets Man of Steel apart from every other Superman out there.
It explores Clark’s inner battle, about what’s right and what’s wrong, and how he could just don’t play by the book.
It meant so much more when someone with all the superpowers like him decides to go through “normal” life after how people treated him. Now that’s, is the true strength of Superman

Coming back to this scene really makes me appreciate Superman, and how his biggest power of all was “restraint”…

Imagine how much trust Kent has in Clark.

I mean, if Clark really wanted to, he could absolutely ignore every rule or obligation Kent gave him, and no one could stop him. But Kent taught him young that just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.
