What Is the Purpose and Meaning of Life? | Now You Know

Where did we come from? Why are we here on earth? And where do we go after we die? We’ve all asked these questions hoping to discover the purpose of life. Mormons—more properly referred to as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—believe that God has a plan for us. It’s called the plan of salvation, and it contains the answers to life’s questions. Jesus Christ is the central figure in God’s plan.

Before we were born on earth, we lived as spirit children of our Heavenly Father. He sent us to earth to receive a physical body and to learn and grow through life’s experiences. God wants us to learn to do good and follow His Son, Jesus Christ. One way we show our love for God is by obeying His commandments.

Of course, God knew we would make mistakes. As part of the plan of salvation, Jesus Christ would be born on earth. He would teach us, establish His Church, and suffer and die for our sins. Because He suffered all things, He can provide us relief from our sorrows and sufferings. Jesus Christ’s sacrifice enables us to repent and be forgiven of our sins and mistakes.

the plan of salvation is the best lesson i always remember when the missionaries came to teach me.
I remember the moments i refused to be baptised but this lesson change my life when they taught me that i am here on earth for the purpose of returning back home to my heavenly Father and that after this life we will gain eternal life

I was balling my eyes out while watching this video I don’t know why but it was a wonderful reminder of why my heavenly loves me and each and everyone of us but as I was watching this video, my little sister who recently got baptised told me that she wouldn’t make it to heaven, in these exact words she said “I believe in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father but I don’t go to church and I don’t say my prayer or read my scriptures” I felt the spirit tell me, teach her what to do. So I’ve decided that from this day onwards both me and her will both read a scripture verse and say our prayers together❤

I am also a Christian. I think thats an awesome question! What does happen after this life? This is what I believe and testify, you can decide for yourself if it is true or not. We can ask God all of our questions One of my favorite scriptures from the Bible King James version is in James 1:5-6
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. "6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."
I love this because if we ask in faith to God our questions he will answer! He has answered my prayers many times! Over serious things (whether I have been Forgiven for sin) and over little things (finding lost items) I testify that God loves all people we are his Children and he wishes hear from us! It can be hard to start that faith but if we but have a desire to believe we can let it work in us and grow. And if it is so little as little as a mustard seed. Matthew 17:20 20 "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." With faith we can move mountains (problems) in our lives. Because God loves us he has a plan for us he knew us before this life (jerimiah 1:5) and he sent us to this earth so we could be happy like him and after this life we can return to him and be with our families forever! I know this to be true! I feel the holy spirit (a feeling of peace, rightness) now as I write this that it is true! (: here is a video that talks about it

God created the plan of salvation. It’s hard to be like him and hope god doesn’t dictate people around the whole world and doesn’t sent us to hell. When I die, please don’t sent me to hell. I served an honorable full time mission in Salt Lake City for a year and another year serving in the Gilbert & Mesa ROC. I served the best I could.
