What comes to mind when you think about research? Probably a laboratory with test tubes, microscopes, and scientists wearing white lab coats. This setup is ideal for researchers in some disciplines, such as virologists studying viral infections, physicists developing new electronic devices, or chemists creating new materials. The video was brief yet well-explained. The definition of research and its importance were clearly stated. The process of how research is done is also well explained, as they relate it to some examples. From that, we realized that research is something that you cannot frantically done but well-thought and criticized yet well-researched.

Depending on how you grew up, your research will be different from all the other people depending on how you look at the world. For example if you grew up in a family where your mother and father were racists during your development phase, your research on people equality and diversity research will be impacted by these facts. Research has bias as well, bias research can be driven by the way you grew up. Than you have evidence based research which does not discriminate how you grew up. Evidence based research does not lie, evidence based research has no chance of bias. Evidence never lies.

Personally I don't think I'm cut out for research. In terms of its significance, I can confidently say that this has wonderful contributions to all fields in the realm of academia. However it will cost you a lot in terms of using brainpower to get through this. As someone who's not thoroughly academically inclined, I still see why some people are actively pursuing this, even if they keep saying it's worth the sacrifices they had to put through in order for this to push through essentially.
