German shepherds are a German breed of a medium to large size working dog. And it was originally bred for herding sheep. They usually live around 9 to 13 years but you know there are always the record holders. German shepherds are intelligent, curious, stubborn, alert, loyal, obedient, confident, and protective. A male adult is usually 66 to 88 pounds and 49 to 71 pounds for a female adult so around the weight of a 7 year old. These dogs also can get along with other dogs but they are aggressive at the same time and might attack other dogs so if possible I suggest it be the only dog in the house. They can be friendly with strangers but they usually have a natural skepticism about them especially if they are on their territory. They are as well child friendly as long as they are properly socialized and trained. They are also bad with heat over 75 degrees 24 degrees Celsius. They also need and enjoy plenty of exercise to not only keep them in shape but to avoid boredom or frustration which could lead to a lot of barking or unwanted and destructive chewing. Also they are not know to be picky eaters at all so if they become one it is most likely because of something you’ve done. They are as well one of the most intelligent of breeds and they are utterly devoted and faithful. And I suggest you brush their coat at least twice a week.

What I would give to have my 12 year old German Shepherd back at 5 years old again 🥺. Cherish the time you have with your baby, because before you know it, they'll be very old and aside from luckily still having them, you will have a constant fear of losing them.. its just so terrifying to imagine life without my best friend 😩.... My shepherd unfortunately has hip and lower back issues which are manageable for now, thank God. This means I can't take him for long walks or anything that involves stress on his lower half... I am very grateful for every day I have with him, but I'm also just so damn terrified because I know he's nearing the end of his life span... I'd give decades of my life span to him if I could, without hesitation... I love my Rocky more than anything and with all of my heart and soul 🥰🐕🐕‍🦺
