Interesting in both Cyberpunk and Hogwarts it seemed like a CPU Bottleneck with low GPU Usage, but then when you enable DLSS the performance increases by 100% which means there are some bottlenecks on the Nvidia GPU. Makes one second guess how much unoptimized GPU shaders/code have been causing us to buy expensive CPUs, or Nvidia is just optimizing for DLSS and RayTracing for their RTX GPUs.

Seems like a sales gimmick for me to be honest, intentionally only optimizing for when having exclusive features enabled. For example, I also only see AMD advertising with SAM + FSR3, etc. enabled. GPU Technology has progressed so much upscaling shouldn't even be a necessity when disabling RayTracing features.

Good test! Please beware that it is never acceptable to use Frame Generation in a CPU test. Those results are invalid since they are not CPU-limited.

What cooler are u using as when I use stock cooler for fx 8320 I hit 71degrees while playing gta5

The FX is a great CPU. Even with RTX 4060 u can play all you need. With Dlss even better. No need to upgrade CPU at all. Approximately 10 years FX will run games more!

Why is the CPU usage so low? On a lot of these games it hovers between 60-70%.

daaamn.. those FPS brings me back to early 2000's... never again... 100-120+ FPS minimum today with ultra graphics...

Fuck! Its so unreal benchmark rtx 4060 handles this games at 4k easily

Tried my RX 7600 in my older FX 8350 rig. To be honest the only viable use case with 4060/7600 with this ancient cpu seems to be 4K 60 gaming on slightly older titles.

It's not doing the GPU happy, utilisation stays pretty low in most titles. Perhaps unsurprising.

Might be worth an overclock, 4.6-ish, but it won't rescue it. Intel of the era (i.e. 4th gen) does as good or better, but most Intel mainboards are locked against overclocking and you need an overclockable CPU as well, so realistically more people had OC access on AMD.

The AMD FX 8350 is holding up much better than the i7 7700 in everso more modern game titles due to that true 8c/8t composition that can compensate for extra work :).

i7 4790k wipes the floor with this chip, i have both and i7 is at least 25fps more than the 8350, all the fx are horrible game chips because i been using fx for ten years till i tried an 4790k.
