Let’s all not forget we haven’t seen Yoda full power. He lost to the emperor not because of battle of skill it’s because the situation he was in. In the comics the emperor even said he feared Yoda and he never wanted to send vader to fight him because he said he knew vader would lose quickly. Yoda is around 1, 000 years old know every force abilities know in the galaxy and he also dark side abilities as well. And is also the best lightsaber duelist of his time he even rivaled and barley outranked the emperor. Yoda prime beats vader prime with Low to Mid Diff

This is Canon vader, not Legends Vader. In Disney Canon, Vader has the same potential after burning on Mustafar that he had before burning. Therefore Vaders potential is 2x Palpatine's potential, and like 2.3x Yoda's potential.

In Legends however, Vader had 80% of Palpatines potential after burning on Mustafar, which means he had around the same potential as Yoda if not a slight bit more than him.

So actually Vader gets more force power either way, but Yoda gets Force Abilities\Force Mastery due to his long life and experience.

Vader gets dueling though, Palpatine stated in the Canon Vader Comics that Vader had surpassed all the sith before them, including himself when it came to skill with a Lightsaber.

Also in the Canon Vader Comics, it is revealed that Vader was growing close to rivaling Sidious in the force by the time of A New Hope.

Then by ROTJ, Vader lost to Luke due to confliction. Vader was far more superior to his son in every way at that point. The main reason Palpatine wanted to replace Vader was not because he was too weak of an apprentice, no it was because he knew that Vader would never get over his confliction, and fully commit to the dark side. After all Palpatine knew that Anakin was still somewhere in Vader. That meant that there would always be a chance of Vader returning to the light.

Now I know someone is going to say, "Oh but Luke was conflicted too! He didn't want to fight his father!" And yeah while that may be true, Luke wasn't affected by it in the same way Vader was.

Luke was already committed to the Light Side of the Force, therefore he was not drifting back and forth between the light and dark sides of the force like his father was. The Dark Side only amplified Luke's abilities further.

Vader on the other hand was jumping back and forth between the dark side and the light, this meant he was not fully immersed in either side. This jumping back and forth severely weakened him both Mentally and Force-wise. A force user must commit to one side of the force in order to utilize it fully. So with Vader jumping back and forth between them, he was unable to truly utilize either side of the force. Therefore Vader was Nerfed, and Luke was Amped.

Canon Prime Vader wins high diff. The guy broke a dimensional barrier, held back planetary oceans, and cracked the crusts of planets. Yoda held back a living mountain, but win still goes to Vader. Also, Vader is a better duelist, his style combined all the forms into one, invincible form
