Their pride cannot accept the obvious --- purgatory.

"it follows that there must be an intermediate process" no it does not follow that it must be a "process"

These two sides misrepresent each other. Listening to them, is purgatory to me.

As a thoroughgoing confessional Protestant, I want to say thank you for representing both views of justification accurately in your intro.

I get it that you watch/listen to these things at 2x speed; but since you want people to focus on a specific back-and-forth, it maybe have been better to play it at regular speed. But then again…we each can adjust the speed on our own settings as well. Except for those of us who are lazy.

I was an ex devout catholic was blind and now can see. If purgatory is real and Biblical then why did Jesus have to go thru savage barbaric beating when you can chant meaningless prayers for those in purgatory and eventually enter.Heaven. If purgatory is true and Biblical then Jesus should have said “It is NOT finished.”

What human pride it must take to think that we can do anything to "cooperate" with the saving work of the Father through the work of Jesus on the cross.

"The workers deserve their wages". I dont deserve Heaven

So sad that you teach that the work of Christ on the cross was insufficient for purging or purifying us of all sin.

Infact that God must still act after we die to make us perfect, as James White upholds unto it, exclusively as a divine act. THEREFORE, SANCTIFICATION AFTER DEATH THAT GOD COMPLETES IN US WAS INDEED A PROCESS. For a process was mainly about and composed of any kind or collection of diff. Actions, wether Divine or Human action. Just like Justification, which is also a divine act but yet its also a process.

Let's pray for the humility of Dr. White.

I know I’m saved by Gods grace and mercy but I’m still fall short.
My conscience needs to be wiped away clean with no memory of my previous sins since noting impure can enter heaven.

Sure it does. Anything scripture says, the RCC says the opposite.

A quick question for you JD, how does a soul in purgatory become fully sanctified so that it can enter in the presence of God? Is it through the prayers of those who are living or the souls themselves do some form of penance?

The reality is that no one will accept Roman arguments for the Roman view of expurgation/Purgatory and Romans will not be convinced of the arguments against their view of expurgation/Purgatory. Everyone believes that there is some change in essence that completes the process of sanctification after a person dies and before the Resurrection. The question is if there is some sort of temporal component with an actual physical/spiritual location as Rome holds, or if expurgation/Purgatory is instantaneous at the Resurrection, or happens at the moment of the death of the body and the departing of the soul to be with Christ. There's precious little scriptural warrant for the view held by Rome, in fact I cannot think of any scriptural support for the notion, even from the OT accounts of Sheol nor from anything in the NT. Paul mentions being caught up to the 7th heaven and longing to depart to be with Christ, but that doesn't provide much evidence of anything and his description of the Resurrection in Thessalonians seems to support the dead being with Christ as well and everything being resolved at that point. John doesn't provide much either in Revelation other than that the martyrs have a special place in the presence of God, but as to everyone else (other than the metaphorical/symbolic 144, 000) there isn't much to go on one way or the other.

it is. Jesus even said it. Matthew 5 about sins: 25 “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.
26 Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny."
You cannot escape from HELL, so this is about PURGATORY. A prison you are UNTIL you pay the last penny. BIBLICAL among other verses.

Whites face turned red....a Purgatorial Purifying fire red lol. This refining can be instantaneous or not but the spirits in heaven are made perfect to enter the joy of heaven & experience the Beatific Vision of Gods Presence.... they are already in the grace & friendship of God

Why is this a debate? When purgatory was created in the 12th century for money reasons, by the Catholic Church… If Paul never spoke of such things than it doesn’t exists …. Period case closed… Paul spoke on every issue Jesus preached on, Paul got his revelation of the gospel and his teachings of mysteries directly from Jesus Christ and not form any man …. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🤯

If you listen to James White for very long, you see that JAMES WHITE often destroys JAMES WHITE.
