The avalanche moving slowly just shows how freaking huge this mountain is.

He said they were at camp 1, ready to depart to camp 2. They were not hit. They sheltered in the tents from the snow vapor and wind that was cast over them. The other video shows how the avalanche takes a bend and is channeled into a kind of valley to their right, they probably knew that there was a huge trench-like pit that would swallow the energy from the avalanche before it could hit them.

Suddenly everyone here's a mountain avalanche expert. Its far enough away by the time it reaches them to have basically turned into a wave of loosely scattered snow mist. They wouldn't be buried it just looks like that from our position. Believe me if they thought where they were standing was in danger they would've taken evasive action
