Amazing skills but also an unbelievable amount of luck. If you watch closely that at the end of the video the avalanche is already faster than the snowboarder. Lucky that he could escape to the right side.

I was involved in a much smaller Avalanche. I was skiing just taking off so I had no speed unlike this guy. It was like standing on a rug and having someone pull the rug out from under you. My skis didn't slide at all. It was like I was wearing shoes on the Snow. Scary to say the least. Slid on top of the snow for about 20 yards, lucky I was at the very top of the Avalanche and didn't have snow behind me or I would had trouble.

Very lucky. A skier was killed last week in an avalanche near Jackson, Wyoming. He was very experienced but ignored posted avalanche alerts.

Definitely not something I'd ever want to do! Awesome skills and quick thinking / reflexes to board out of the track to safety. Could have been a lot uglier had he become an uncontrolled part of the avalanche mass.
