The dark liquid and the chamber containing the strange architecture is in fact referencing Amnesia: Rebirth where the liquid in the game is revealed to come from the other realm where the Queen came from. That liquid also turned most of Tasi's party into monsters. Also you can kill lambert by luring Lambert onto the bridge, throwing him the stuffed rabbit, then throwing a grenade onto the bridge, causing it and Lambert to fall into the Chasm.

Fun Fact: If you decide to fall into the chasm, after a short while it'll seem that you in fact actually live before growling and a dull crimson light appears, killing you. You know what's special about the growling?

It's the same type of growling that the monster guarding the Orb makes back in Amnesia: The Dark Descent

there's a chance that the germans didn't kill him after the ending. they are known to take prisoners and someone like henri that miraculously survived behind the enemy lines would prove valuable. hell, his survival can be a giant sequel bait with him telling the germans about the tunnels and the sequel can take place during ww2 with the nazis opening the tunnel again for magical artifact.

You can actually kill the monster by making it fall on the final bridge section, but that to me would give a pretty much closed ending with the protagonist being K111ed by the soldiers

correction, actually there are 3 living human beings on the bunker
henri, some german soldier and a crazy blind dude with a shotgun

Just finished it in 14 hours 2 days earlier. I loved the game, and it brought me back into the horror genre, which became sterile to me since nothing scared me anymore. But this game sometimes gave me terror, constant pressure, and anxiety. The moment where the lights turn off, you not even know what the moster looks like, the inability to turn on the light unless you want to be heard, and only having one bullet with a fast learning beast it really made me feel horror again. Thanks to Game Pass, I'm playing the whole saga, a saga, I wouldn't pay one single $, but now I love it.

There is actually an alternate ending. You can use the doll you find to make Lambert stop in place on wooden planks in the final section, above a massive fall into darkness, and then use an explosive to destroy the planks. Sending Lambert to his death.

It's quite sad that Henri tried to make amends by trying to help his friend, but ended up cursing not just him but his entire unit.
By far the best horror game, because if incredible lore and gameplay. Hopefully Frictional will spare no expense for gameplay on the sequel either

That liquid is from Rebirth, which turns people into ghouls.

The liquid that Henri gave Augustin to drink could have a connection to previous installments in the series. Also, the monster escaping is only 1 of 2 endings ALERT....Henri can actually cause the monster to, seemingly, fall to its death in the large chamber with the draw bridges before making his escape, in the cut scene afterwards, when Henri looks back at cave exit, the monster does not emerge from the cave and run off which leads us to believe that the monster is dead, or at the very least trapped in the abyss below the chamber. There is also a small easter egg that is easily missed in that chamber as well if the player falls off into the abyss in that room.

This story kind of makes me think of something my high school history teacher said, that soldiers would be brought back from the battlefield after gas attacks, the cold air outside would freeze the gas to their clothes and hair, and once they were safe within the warm air of the bunker, the gas would melt and evaporate and fill the bunker.

The series has come far since the dark descent

There's a fair bit missing here. There are in fact two endings. You didn't mention the role of the bunny and the true ending where you actually kill Lambert rather than just escaping.

The liquid is the ghoul transformation elixir from Amnesia Rebirth. It's basically what creates all of the monsters in the Amnesia series. Alexander in TDD makes a facsimile of it to feed his soldiers to become Harvesters. Oswald in AMfP uses a fabricated version of it as a machine fluid for both his machine and his Pigmen.

When Henri freed himself from the bunker and fell into the putrid pond, I like to think the water also contained the mysterious, rage-inducing, body-transforming, monster-making liquid. The bloated, lacerated, and mutilated bodies of his comrades look awfully deformed.
(maybe it's just war-torn bodies, but that hand Henri removes off of his own body has weirdly long fingers, maybe it's just me)

Imagine the Germans capture Henri and bring him into their bunker, only for him to become what he has fled from.

In the begining: ‹‹ protagonist will question his own sanity›› just for once i want to see a character that is crazy and won't question his sanity. Just think a Monster attack him, and he just like : ‹‹no not my clothes, get back in the wall you weird cockroaches››

i think the liquid is an impure version of vitiay
